This is an embarrassment- USC takes a scholarship away from a former walkon who had earned the scholarship, so they can give it to another player who was released early from jail for leaving the scene of an accident he caused while driving drunk. He ended up serving only 3 months of his 1 year sentence, and missing only 1 game.

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/09/...medium=twitter... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

Absolutely nothing....nothing, shocks me anymore with regard to big time college athletics. I read the story you're referring to and shrugged my shoulders. It's all about winning and revenue - revenue and winning. Did i mention revenue? Teams like USC (and many others) have developed a "win at any cost" mentality and that's what they're going to do. There are a few large conference teams that are a breath of fresh air...but for the most part big time athletics has become a moral and ethical embarrassment. Academics and character development are minor footnotes in the agendas of those who are charged with one thing: Win.

Originally posted by Da Coach View PostThough there may be nothing with this instance that violates NCAA rules, USC has a history of doing things in pursuing their "win at all costs" philosophy that are an embarrassment to their school, and others that are blatantly illegal (i.e. Reggie Bush). Does anyone doubt that for each instance where they have been caught cheating, that there are likely more that go undiscovered?
