The Bears have acquired former Richwoods and Northwestern player Sherrick McManis for fullback Tyler Clutts.
McManis will fill the Bears' need for another cornerback-
McManis was a 5th round draft pick by the Texans in 2010. He has played mostly on special teams for Houston, but has also played cornerback. He was a cornerback at Northwestern, but at Richwoods he was an All State player and played multiple positions, including running back.

In another surprising move, the Bears released quarterback Josh McCown, who played the entire game last night for the Bears in their final preseason exhibition game-
And defensive lineman Amobi Okoye, who played for the Bears last season, but signed a free agent contract this year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been released by Tampa, and will sign with the Bears again-
The Bears need to make several more cuts to get down to the required roster limit of 53 by 8 PM tonight.
But it appears one of the decisions that was made is to cut running back Armando Allen, and keep Lorenzo Booker as their 3rd string running back. Both were very impresisve in the Bears' preseason.
