Prediction Poll - Who Will Be Most Improved BU Player in 2012-13

Something to do while waiting for MBB season to start...

Which returning BU MBB player will improve the most overall from their
stats from last year: PPG, RPG, APG, FG Shooting %, FT Shooting %

To keep this simple, won't measure this by minutes played, just overall
YE 2012-13 player stats vs their last stats (returning injured player stats will be from their last full season at BU).

No prizes, just the satisfaction that comes from making a good wild a$$ guess!

Will Egolf would be the obvious choice, but since he didn't play last year, we should compare him with 2 years ago. Hopefully Shayok improves a lot.

Toss up between DSE and Shayok. I'm taking DSE and am hopeful they both become more reliable and consistent on a game to game basis.

Toss up between DSE and Shayok. I'm taking DSE and am hopeful they both become more reliable and consistent on a game to game basis.

I was thinking the same B4L, but I took Shayok because he struggled for practically the whole season last year, whereas DSE just was inconsistent.
I look for DSE to be a strong candidate for 2nd team MVC, but it would mean very little if his play didn't help the team come close to a .500 season.

Either that, or we're in deep do-do (or at least staying in deep do-do), 'cause if Walt improves most, that probably means the others didn't improve much.
I would take Walt being 1st team All-Valley with the others slightly improving...as long as our newcomers step in and play decent.

Who do you think has the potential to improve the most??

My thoughts:

1) Shayok (sky's the limit - he has the skill set)
2) Will (maybe Geno's style will tailor to his strengths and athleticism)
3) DSE (if he finishes on his drives, watch out! We've seen flashes of what he can do...just needs consistency)
4) Jordan (confidence is the key!)
5) Jake (by hitting the 3, he might still be the biggest boost off the bench for Geno)

I picked SS because he has the greatest upside and sort like picking stocks that is a major variable. Now if DSE develops a consistent 3 to the 40% range then everything changes.

More importantly, DSE needs to have a MUCH higher 2-point FG%.
I wouldn't mind if he hits at 36% from downtown like last season (as long as we have 1 or 2 other Braves hitting at 40%), but we should expect him to score closer to the hoop, as he doesn't have much trouble getting there.

I remember AW not having a stellar Junior season (probably his worst relative to expectation among all 4 seasons), and then broke out his senior year.
Hopefully DSE will have a breakout year similar to AW.

I picked Will because he did not play at all last season so everything he does will be better then last season, if he has the opportunity to play the correct position (which is not center) I think he will be a huge contributor.

Will will spend a majority of his time at the 5, while Pickett and Shayok will get most of the minutes at the 4. Unfortunately, we have four power forwards on the roster and only 1 true center (who isn't ready).

+1 and I wish we had a like button! I'm also hoping that GF is the most improved person on the team because it will take a ton of great coaching to get this team to .500 IMO. Another year in the MVC should give him the proper perspective of what he's up against.

I think .500 is a heck of a stretch for this season.

I have them for 5 more wins at 12, but more importantly, i think they'll compete at a much higher level, and not be blown out of games the way that they were last year.

I have to agree. That is pretty much what my post was saying. If GF coaches this team to .500 he'll be the most improved! IMO with the current make up of players, we are in for another long season. I just do not see the players who are capable of dominating in league play night in and night out, as of yet.
