Have been? Yeah. But its hard to argue they are moving in the right direction... BU used to be the best basketball program in Illinois too, things have changed.

I agree here with Fanatic. Leaving in Arizona there were most definitely no more ND fans than U of A or ASU. There are indeed more ND fans than U of I in Chicago for football. Chicago is and always will be a pro sports town though, just the way it is. Bulls, Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears, Sox are just the name of the game. Most really large cities are that way. NYC, LA for the most part, ATL, Philly, Boston... Etc. Just hard to argue with the exposure they get and that people who move there adopt them, not just alums.

The look of the floor will be modern and fresh I have no doubts about that. The red will actually be red instead of the terrible faded almost pink the current floor has. I would have faith in the powers that be that they have chosen a look that will not embarrass the program as well as show up well on t.v.

p.s. keep a look out for some fresh new apparel and a new license opening the door for more modern look and choices.

I think the new B will look fine on a court. Just put the shield in the middle (I still like the red background instead of white), have "Bradley" underneath, make the paint area red, and everything will be set. Wouldn't be surprised if the word Braves wasn't anywhere on the court. I hope it will be.

It is completely shocking to me that when I go to the Bradley Bookstore online I am not bombarded with apparel with the new logo. If we want to roll out a new logo, then really go for it and highlight it. I don't think I could buy a shirt with the new logo if I wanted to from outside Peoria.

Isn't the new logo just for the athletic department(no more script BU Braves) but the academic side retains the same type font?
The bookstore should have no more script Braves, but not very thing will have the new logo.

This was designed specifically for Bradley Athletics (see link). But, IMO, Bradley is making a mistake if they do not brand the entire university with the same images.

more and more teams are going for the oddball look ...courts that defy the standards...maybe they give the home team a tiny advantage due to their unfamiliar appearance - maybe there's a benefit for marketing...

Dangit. I blame Boise State. As a Notre Dame fan I'm used to a pretty simple field, I would hope it translates to basketball as well. Should be focused on the talent not the field. This is NOT the "bush league".

People/schools will do anything to stand out. It's about marketing and being recognized. It's one reason you've seen so many go to the oversized logos at midcourt. I don't think they look bad, but when the first started appearing, it was odd and took a little getting used to.

That doesn't mean that some courts/fields go too far and are just hideous, but they're trying to be different.
