I hear the hire for the department guy from Nelligan has been made - now BU is hiring a ticket sales person...
Maybe we soon hear something on TV deal or promotions?

The report says, "After 30 years, the seats in Carver Arena are finally being replaced", suggesting that the seats are all 30+ years old. This is not true. A large number of the lower bowl seats were replaced when the lower bowl was re-configured somewhere around 15 years ago. Does anyone else recall the details and when that was?
Note that there are no sections 3, 11, 15, and 23 in the lower bowl. They did exist originally, and they do still exist in the upper bowl, where no reconfiguration was done. The original seats in the lowest part of the lower bowl required a team of people to manually move in and out to change from basketball seating to hockey seating. Then some time around 2000 they installed a new motorized retraction system made by an Italian firm. It required that the seats be replaced, but the company never delivered the seats, and the motorized retraction system never worked right. I recall the Civic Center was going to sue the Italian firm, but I don't know if that ever happened. Anyway, I recall that the Civic Center was able to find another company willing to custom manufacture the seats and make the system work right, and the project finally was completed. In the end, the sections 3, 11, 15, and 23 were eliminated.
BTW- this project came out of a state grant that was announced about a year ago-

plus all the seats in the red & blue areas & mezzanine are folding chairs and get "replaced" just about every year or two
and although we don't play there any more - the UNI-dome is getting a makeover

It was hard to watch. I guess if I was an Oakland fan I'd do it and take one for the team, but I wonder how many people who watch this are like me in thinking this court is ugly and distracting.
Add the Oakland grizzly logo is enormous- nearly stretching from one 3-point arc to the other & a heavy dose of glare off the floors that's further distracting.
