  • Bradley recruit for 2013- 6'10" Carter Evans

Bradley has been recruiting this kid for several weeks, but just extended a scholarship offer yesterday. He was scouted this summer playing for the Minnesota Fury AAU team. Check out the latest 2013 recruit to receive a scholarship offer, Carter Evans of Rochester Century HS in Minnesota-

This means Carter is new since the comment about BU having two dozen offers out...
there's a tweet that says BU was just calling the kid for the first time a few days ago

Carter now has a total of six offers, two of which are D-I they are now saying no offer from San Jose

Here's a story about "the game of his life" - for Carter Evans...

It's on an exclusive recruiting site - but I'll let you have some of it...

"Century beats Owatonna for Big 9 Lead"

Rochester Century is now in first place of the Big Nine Conference after
traveling to Owatonna and grabbing an eye-opening 61-48 victory. Top 20
ranked 2012 prospect Ater Manyang had players hanging on him all night long
so Carter Evans stepped up with the game of his life.

"Carter Evans had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds," said
      Century Coach Joseph Ohm.

"We played solid defense in the second half and held them to five points in
the first nine minutes of the second half," explained Ohm. "We did a much
better job handling their full-court pressure in the second half and were able
to get good offensive possessions. We forced them to play more of a half-
      court game."

With the win Century improved to 6-0 on the year and will likely make a
debut in the Minnesota Preps Class AAAA rankings next week."

There are some other game reports - I will have more later...
I like that we are getting in early on this kid and I hope we're even getting in on 2014's

One 2014 we are definitely in early on is Alex Sorenson...perhaps the "next Alec Peters"

For those not familiar, Alex Sorenson is at Dunlap High School. He was a very good player for them as a 6'5" sophomore last season, but he has grown to 6'7" and is likely to add a little more. He will be just a junior (class of 2014) next season, and the Bradley coaches are very aware of him. Some who have seen him say he has good coordination, and is becoming a very good shooter. He has D1 potential, and can be a player similar to Alec Peters of Washington, who also did not really get much recruiting attention until his junior season.
Alex plays for the Peoria Irish AAU team.

Alex is 6-8 now according to his own site...

and was written up in this premium column a couple days ago...we should start a separate thread on him - he's gonna take off...

If 2 coaches have sons at Dunlap, does that mean Bradley is twice as aware of Alex as Max?

Time to name a BU MBB practice court or workout room for Alex Sorenson's
              father

Ex-BU recruit Carter Evans is putting up some pretty awesome numbers...
                25 points last week

...and pretty routinely putting up double-doubles

BTW - Sorenson scored 24 last night vs. a tough Limestone squad, while Nate Taphorn had 23 for Pekin vs. EP

I have been following him too. He had a double 20 tonight against Albert Lea and I was told a triple double against John Marshall High School who have a D1 prospect 5.

Is there any chance Carter might reconsider and take a D1 offer if he gets one he likes?

He thinks D2 is a better match I think. I doubt he would back out on that commitment.

Carter Evans was injured most of his freshman season but now as a soph he is doing well - averaging 12 pt, 8 rebs

Dunlap's Alex Sorenson is starting as a freshman at Northern Michigan, avg 6 pts/3 rebs vs two very tough opponents that were ranked (Lewis, UIndy)

I still check in on Bradley and am sorrow to see the funk the team is currently in. It is a young team and hopefully will heal up and get back on track. Carter Evans was injured last year and spent a lot of time in the weight room. He is now a solid 250 and still has a 35 inch vertical. When Bradley backed out he was very disappointed, but he is on a great team with some high character teammates and coaches he loves so it worked out. Hope things turn around for the Braves but I know Carter's experience was not a positive one.

you're preaching to the choir....Carter will be averging 20 pts/12 rebs by the time he finishes his career - while Bradley still pursues and offers dozens of single digit scorers who can't rebound either...

Just a followup on Carter Evans - 6-10 low post player who Bradley recruited a couple years ago who now plays at Northern State University (D2)..

After an injury filled year last year that he took as a redshirt...
he is now back and in his sophomore season, and is their best big man..
averaging 10 ppg & 7 rpg in 20 min per game hitting 65% of his shots.
