I remember when Caterpillar changed its logo. There was A LOT of internal consternation and disappointment with the old timers and rank and file employees......
One positive to a slight change of name to Brave would be the possibility of scheduling those handful of schools that refuse to play any school with "offensive" nicknames.
Can anyone define what they mean by "will be the only permissible representation of Bradley athletics going forward"
Does that mean i'll be band from campus for wearing my old stuff?
Call me crazy but why does Bradley continue to sell the old "out-dated" stuff with the old lettering and logo? I won't buy it. Who would? It's history.
I know, I know... They don't have enough of the new stuff produced and ready to sell, but if they really want to make a clean break from the old and to the new then they should donate ALL of that old stuff to Haiti, Third World Country, or inner-city youth. They also should have been more prepared for this "rollout" and had more merchandise ready to go... Just my opinion.
For the record, I like the new lettering look of "Bradley Athletics", but am not sold (as of yet) on the shield logo. I like the "empty" shield look much better than the colored in shield.

There would of been more leaks of the new brand if stores had merchandise in stock. And just removing merchandise would mean the possibility of permanently losing shelf space.
It is a bit too bad they did not make the change before the back to school merchandise was made.
Most guys/gals in the marketing group I worked in were underwhelmed with the early 60's graphic (just don't call it a block 'C'), and, were speechless when the new /_\ logo was introduced...
Ironically a lot of the same verbiage was going around that I am now reading on BF.com... particularly, how much did we (Cat Advertising and Promotion) pay someone to come up with that!
Should be some good clearance sales on former BU branded hats & clothing though!
I think the new logo/brand is plain and simple. Probably not meant to be bold. Something could have been done to make the shield pop a little more. At first glance..... the first thing I thought was something off a red and white 8 ball.

I hope they didn"t spend much because just about anyone could have come up with this simple idea, like you said there should be huge clearance sales going on to get rid of the former Bradley gear which looks 10 times better , would think that this change would have been made at the end of last school year so the places that handle BU gear would noy buy more of it for this year and get stuck with it ,any local stores will not be happy with this late decision and more then likely will not be buying much new merchandise if any at all do to this change.

If it sells they will buy more plain and simple. Any successful business makes sure they are not over subscribed with their inventory. They can sell the old stuff as legacy gear :-)

I was going through my closet looking for clothes to pack for a trip, and I found a shirt I have had for a while that had a familiar looking logo on it.
This is a shirt I got from the Braves Scholarship Society a while ago.
It does bear some similarities to the new Bradley logo-
