Yeah, I think we should try to put this debate to rest until after this season at least.
Most would agree that JP struggled quite a bit last year after having a decent freshman campaign. We know what he's capable of - just a matter of doing it more. I have faith that he'll improve and be more consistent this season.
He is a huge part of our success, as Geno has eluded to.

We don't need a difference maker this season - just more steady contributions and improved play by EVERYONE.

      JP's FG% in 2 years is 48.7%
actually according to the official NCAA web site his totals after his sophomore season were...
364 points & 414 rebounds (because he did play in 6 games in his initial/redshirt year and got 1 pt & 8 rebs)
but he's also a dangerous guy to have in a close game at the end because he's such a terrible FT shooter at just around 50%

...so clearly he was coveted by U of I and they even talked about him being a QUALITY big man and yet his stats are virtually no different than JP's (actually Jordan's numbers were slightly better across the board)
--- given that at Coastal Carolina McLaurin played day in and day out against the likes of so many non-D-I's and horribly LOW D-I's....
90% of the opponents McLaurin played against would have been the WORST opponent on Bradley's schedule had we played them!

I really haven't seen any U of I fans "drooling" over him. I am not expecting much.
