I have no idea how much time JP is putting in the weight room and gym this summer. If he is dedicating his summer to the game I would expect to see his minutes perhaps go down a bit due to the depth but not by much and I expect to see much better efficiency. Who is going to take those minutes? A red-shirt freshman or a guy with two major knee surgeries the past two years?
Both. I'd expect Egolf to play 15-20 minutes, and I think the big kid will get 5 minutes per game. That leaves Pross with 15-20 minutes as well.

OK then answer the original question...how many post players has BU had in the last 20 years, or make it 30 or 40 if you want - who had more points AND more rebounds than Jordan Prosser by the end of his sophomore year?
That's all I ask - tell me how many? Don't bother to tell me how unfair it was that some players played their frosh or soph years for some other school, or that somehow Prosser's numbers are tainted by the fact that he misses some layups (everyone does), or tell me how much you'd prefer to have Doug McDermott instead...
All I ever said is that I can only find ONE player who played that position for Bradley who had better numbers after his frosh & sophomore season...
People are comparing numbers in 3rd & 4th years of players like Zach Andrews to JP's freshman & sophomore seasons - that's all I am saying...

Maybe if you could find 10 or 15 of them I'd understand the criticism JP gets....but I can't find more than one and that guy was an NBA Lottery Pick..
so I am willing to cut the kid some slack and see how he does this year before yanking his scholarship...

Can you list the big men who played both of their freshman and sophomore years at BU that he is statistically better than so I can make an apples to apples comparision?

I like Jordan. I think he will be fine. I just don't think it makes any sense to compare Jordan's first two years stats to some other guy's one year totals.

+1. Jordan will continue to contribute over the next 2 years.

here's one other thought-- if he keeps rebounding at the same pace as he currently is....and stays healthy and at BU (**see below) - he'll finish his BU career with almost 800 career rebounds..

Where would that place him in BU's all time list??
It would place Jordan Prosser inside the top 7 or eight ALL TIME.....
and if you only look at a more modern era - say maybe since the 80's then JP will be one of the top 2 or 3 rebounders in the past 30 years - and just maybe the top career rebounder in the past 24 years

We all know guys got 15-20+ rebounds a game when shooting percentages were much lower back in the 50's & 60's...

so here are the top career rebounders for Bradley...

1411 rebounds - Dick "Mr. Rebound" Estergard 1951-54
1036 rebounds - Chet "The Jet" Walker 1959-1962
            947 rebounds - Mitchell "JJ" Anderson 1978-82
            933 rebounds - Luke Jackson 1986-90
            907 rebounds - Barney Cable 1955-58
            865 rebounds - Joe Allen 1965-68
            818 rebounds - Hersey Hawkins 1984-88
            799 rebounds - Harold McMath - 1976-80
            687 rebounds - Donald Reese 1979-82
            686 - Voise Winters - 1981-85
            662 - Marcellus Sommerville 2003-06
            .
            .
            .
JP - currently at 388 rebounds

(** JP will be a grad student by his senior year in 2013-2014 - so don't be surprised if he gets a few "recruiting calls & texts" )

This link is making me laugh. Your last sentence MB says it all. Sorry Mister Prosser your no Thirdkill or Reese .NO WHERE CLOSE. Hope he makes big strides so he can keep his starting position.

Good call 'Zona. I think in time we'll say JP was a good solid BU player... Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm surprised his stats are that good. I wonder how much of an issue his knee was during last season as he seemed to be inconsistent. One issue I have with directly comparing his stats to other players is that he had 3 seasons on campus getting the RS, POB was suspended during part of his SOPH year, and the teams over the last two seasons were beyond terrible. There are plenty of NBA players that can put up really nice stats on bad teams but aren't nearly as good in real life as they are on paper. David Lee and Stephen Jackson are excellent examples of this recently. David Lee hasn't played on a good team, but I still think he's a valid example.

Hopefully JP will have two more good years with BU.

Points and rebounds per game averages instead of point and rebound totals would address your validity concerns.

You must be joking unless he all of a sudden becomes a much better player his junior season.
