Dream Team -->> Nightmare Team??

This year's Olympic Team had some people bragging and saying they were AS GOOD as the 1992 Dream Team...but I sure doubt it...

once again they struggled mightily and had to hold on for dear life and barely edge out Argentina 86-80.

I'm not arguing that they are as good but you do have to admit that the other teams are a ton better and not even close.

at one point 10 out of 10 players on the floor were all active nba players. name a comparable team the dream team plaed.

So the teams the dream team played were that bad heh? I guess I would need to look it up to see how bad they were. I do not recall that the dream teams competition was all that bad.

Part of what happened in 1992 involved all the opponents being in total awe of the players on the Dream team and simply wanting to take pictures & get autographs - the Dream team were their heroes ..
But then again - the 1992 team was so sure they were going to win they only lightly practiced, and they never watched scouting tapes...in effect didn't even bother to prepare for the opposition - just went out and demolished them.

That's not true now - the opponents want to beat them and play hard.

BUT - the teams the US beat in 1992 were not all slouches...but the ease with which the US won was what everyone saw as their total domination...

They never trailed, and they never lost a game by anything fewer than 38 points.
Every NBA player on the 1992 Dream Team and all their coaches are now in the NBA Hall of Fame.
