Missouri State lost All MVC player Kyle Weems, their leading scorer and rebounder, from last year's 16-16, 9-9 7th place team. They also lost a couple other key starters in 2nd leading scorer Caleb Patterson, and point guard Mike Bizoukas. So this was looking like a rebuilding year for the Bears, but now they have gotten some bad news. Jarmar Gulley, a junior college transfer last year who would have been a senior this year, will miss his entire senior season because of a serious knee injury incurred while playing summer league basketball.
Gulley averaged 10.8 ppg last year, and would have been the 2nd highest leading returning scorer. He also averaged 5.8 rpg, and would have been their top returning rebounder. In addition, Gulley would have been the top returning three point shooter.
