This isn't so much questioning the fact, just asking since I had never heard this before. He wasn't able to pick his staff from 2002-2005 when he was hired? If that is true that makes no sense on Bradley's part.

The administration felt BU could do better so they took a chance and made a change......maybe they made a mistake, time will tell.....and it also could be up to people's interpretation if they did make a mistake. What is a success in one's opinion isn't in another and so it goes.

I've supported BU with 4 different coaches and will continue to do so as long as it's possible
      Nice post. I agree completely.

and I am sure lefty knows I have supported BU since Joe Allen was an underclassman...and I have likely been to more BU games than all but a few dozen folks...so I speak as one with long experience...
I find it odd that I am still attacked for my loyalty even tho many who like to attack don't go to games or even "boycott" because the games are not to their liking.
I think I have earned the right to hold whatever opinion I have - the players and coaches know which fans support them and are at every event...
I support BU coaches and players 100% and continue to support them long after they leave the hilltop.......and I am there rooting for them even when factors caused some games to draw only 4-5000 and one even drew just 100 or so..(a game we won btw)

T, I think you should keep sharing your opinions and not worry about the stalkers. I will say though that you have to expect some backlash when you play the "bigger fan" card. True or not, people will get offended by that. Just my opinion.

+1 BNC. And I don't think (or see) anyone questioning tornado's loyalty. It should be obvious to all that tornado is a big fan and supporter of BU Basketball for the past 40 years or so. Anyone who would offer the financial support (BSS) and emotional support (long time season ticket holder) is obviously a HUGE fan of Bradley Basketball. I think tornado is disenchanted with what he sees as changes (for the worse, in his opinion) that have been occuring on The Hilltop for the past several years. I certainly hold a different opinion from his but respect the right he has earned to express his dissatisfaction.

not true B4L - I have been an enormous fan of every coach and every player this school has ever had...but I am not and was not a fan of the process as it played itself out over the past 1-1.5 yrs.

Thus I continue to point out how that process has sunk us deep into a hole full of -- dare I say it - fallout.

and yet I am continually attacked as being anti-Bradley --or anti GF -- when that's not even close to reality - so I defend myself - I don't claim to be a better or bigger fan - just defend my fandom
I am anti- the factors that put us where we are and you can draw your own conclusions - plus I am not the only one and that will be more evident this coming season

[QUOTE=tornado;260112]Time will -- and pretty much already has - proven that we didn't have it so bad under JL...

Preach it T, the grass is always greener else where. I rarely post... But have to chime in here JL did some really great things and I would not be surprised to see it take 5 years to get this train wreck turned around. The derailment started with the firing of JL.

Really? I can't change your opinion, but the 17, 15, 15 & 20 loss seasons before that might have had something to do with it. The last two seasons have been very tough to stomach. I can't fathom thinking that the 2010-11 season wasn't a trainwreck.

I hope to see some improvement in the recruiting and W/L record soon.

                        • I understand you are going to say what you feel. But don't you think a name change is in order? Kind of false advertising.

                            • Just got to hope potential recruits don't read this Forum... All the JL idolatry, BU Admin bashing, lack of faith in GF, doom and gloom predictions for upcomnig years, snipes insinuating lack of recruiting by GF, ..... Who wants to come here in the middle of this cluster ****.

How does hijacking a Recruiting Article to praise JL, bash BU, question GF's ability to turn the program around, pat one's self on the back as the greatest BU fan in history, and, critciize everyone who doesn't worship JL, get past Admins here?

Oh yeah, the Admins must agree with one poster who can't let it go.

Or perhaps they believe any post which drives up hits and replies is worthwhile in an otherwise slow off season....

Get over JL.... For the love of God people, get over him, get over pompous positions of 'I TOLD EVERYONE SO', and let go of deeply seated anger over his departure.

None of this serves this Forum , BU MBB, or BU any worthwhile purpose....

                              • AZ BU Fan - Generally I agree with your post but I do not want to give GF a free ride. I do not believe he is taking one but as a fan I do have a sense of urgency. I thought it would take 3 maybe 4 years to get this program back in shape but as of now I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I like the guys we have, its just not enough of the right pieces still.

I was a big JL backer but that is the past and let's all move forward. All it would take is two quality recruits to get this ball moving or a real difference maker. There should be no excuses at this point in time. You either can get it done or you can't.

In reality I just do not understand what these kids are being sold where BU is not a major destination for the 3 star players. I understand why the 4-5 star guys want to go to the bigger schools but BU even has a few advantages over them. Imagine what a few top end kids together in a class at BU could accomplish and become legends. I mean real legends.
