  • Daniel Grieves

Daniel Grieves, the son of Metamora HS coach Danny Grieves - was one of the best shooters on a Mountain West team last year - and a great scorer in high school,
but has left and did not want to play at AFA..... and was interested in transferring...

He has now enrolled in juco at Pearl River CC in Mississippi - close to where he went to HS before his father came to Metamora as basketball coach

    (from NJCAA)
Grieves, Daniel St. Stanislaus Bay St Louis, MS
    Pearl River Community College

Daniel Grieves is starting to light it up after a slow start -- he's had a couple double digit games with one game of 19 pts and has his scoring average up to 12 ppg (& 5 rebs) - he's a freshman at juco
Don't know if he has any further interest in Peoria but I hope we're watching the kid....

I trust that you think he's a better juco pick up than Mason Alwan. I remember your initial impressions and thoughts on him were far from glowing.

Having seen both over the years in high school.... they were very similar players. Both players best skill is their ability to shoot. Alwans shooting form is a little better but both could put points on the board. Alwans teams at Richwoods were much deeper/better so he did not always grab the headlines like Grieves did at Metamora.

Daniel Grieves never played for Metamora - so you likely saw his younger brother, Jackson Grieves...
Daniel Grieves played his whole high school career in Mississippi

Daniel Grieves - son of the Metamora coach, landed at Louisiana-Monroe and had a decent junior season but is now transferred to Southeast Louisiana for his senior season.
