In case others can't get that link to work, here is more about the new SIU recruit Chase Heins. It's not clear whether he will be on scholarship or a walkon.-
Former Trico High School star Chase Heins said Monday he will join the SIU men??™s basketball team for the 2012-13 season.
Heins, 18, averaged 13.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game for the Pioneers last season. Trico finished 26-5, losing in the finals of the Class 2A Pinckneyville Regional to the host Panthers.
???It??™s always been a dream to play at SIU, with the holiday tournament playing inside (at SIU Arena) and everything,??? Heins said. ???It was just a really good opportunity for me.???
Heins was not sure if he??™d be a walk-on or on scholarship this season, he said. The 6-foot-7, 255-pound forward said either way, the Salukis were a great opportunity for him to play in front of his friends and family. SIU coach Barry Hinson can??™t comment on newcomers until they sign a national letter of intent, or what??™s called a financial aid agreement. The Salukis currently have two scholarships available for the upcoming season after center Harry Whitt said he would withdraw from school.

SIU loses another player- Kourtney Goff, a junior college transfer who was a walkon for last season's Saluki team, will not return for the 2012-2013 season.
He played in 28 games last year, started 9 games, and averaged 1.5 ppg for Chris Lowery.
With Goff's departure and Chase Hein, the late 2012 recruit above, the 2012-2013 SIU roster is now up to 11.
