  • OT - My beloved Heat WIN IT ALL

I just wanted to congratulate the 2011-2012 MIAMI HEAT.

Being a die-hard, loyal heat fan since 2009 ish. I am so happy to see Lebron, Dwayne, and Chris win it all (and the other players whose names I can't recall at the moment). I celebrated by going to a local establishment and cheering obnoxiously to show how legit I am at being a Heat fan.

Lebron should get into the HOF right now. I bet they win 9 straight.

Spoelstra is BY FAR the best coach I have ever seen.

Funniest post I've seen in a long time.
    Good one, FWO.

I too have been a loyal Heat fan for a couple weeks now, and happy to see such NBA greats like Eddie Curry finally get their NBA Championship rings they have so long deserved.

I actually would like to congratulate the Miami Heat on their championship. I have been a fan for years having lived in South Florida in my early 20s. It seems like most people have nothing but hate for the Heat but what can I say, when you are the best, there will always be someone to hate you. Haters gonna hate!!!! LET'S GO HEAT! LET'S GO HEAT! LET'S GO HEAT!
        Go small or go home!

I can understand if you started liking them when they were D-Wade and Lebron-less. It's hard to break your fanship from any team. Just look at us Braves fans!

I lived in South Florida for half my life and just never could get into any Florida sports teams. Sorry, but big difference between the average sports fan (aside from the Dolphins) in South Florida compared to the average sports fan in the Chicago area...as far as loyalty, interest, enthusiasm. And THAT may be a big reason why I haven't broken my fanship with Illinois teams.

But it's more than just the fact that they're the best that people despise the Heat. From a non-NBA follower, it sounds like D-Wade and Lebron (and maybe Bosh??) are classless, immature, egotistical, and sore losers. And if true, haters will voice their hate more profoundly.

Lets not get this wrong, Lebron, Bosh and Wade are good and can single handedly carry teams themselves. This Heat Championship is watered down though. Lebron, Bosh and Wade all agreed to come together and rather easily win a championship. They should of won last year but don't know what happened. It takes all the fun out of the game and i'm betting the Miami Heat actually lost money overall due to the big contracts of the big 3. If this were the Bulls doing this, I don't know if I would be that excited knowing the Championship was bought and not built mainly around the draft with a couple decent free agents to help out.

I really didn't want to comment on this thread, but there is a lot I can't agree with. Bosh doesn't seem to be a bad guy at all, but he's certainly not a superstar at the level of James or Wade (when healthy). Lebron really carried this team to the championship, and he was the clear leader of this team. I don't consider this a watered-down championship. Boston accumulated superstars to win as well. The Yankees do it all the time. Plenty of football teams try to do it and fail (Washington especially). It doesn't work more often than it works.

When a former superstar joins a team just to get a ring, then I think it waters down their ring (if Malone and GP had won with the LAL). Glenn Robinson certainly wasn't significantly involved in earning his ring. He wasn't a superstar but was definitely a star at one point (two time all-star). If Nash joins Miami next year, then I would consider that watered-down.

I'm not a fan of Miami in any way. Lebron might be a jerk, but plenty of elite players are jerks (Jordan). He doesn't get in trouble off the court and really isn't a "dirty" player. I don't like the way he left Cleveland and will never root for him, but he's a great player.

As far as who likes this team, I don't care at all why someone else likes or dislikes a team. If someone wants to just bandwagon with front-runners, then go right ahead. It doesn't affect me in any way. I don't care if you started liking the Heat in the last 10 years or 10 minutes. If you stick with one team, then I think the championships will mean more to you. That's just my opinion.
