Well, apparently the MVC thinks that our mascot is a "Red Sea" thanks to those folks at the NCAA....
If there are any people that like the MVC page on Facebook, you'll know what I mean.
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!

FWIW, the new brand image and logo could be released as early as August.
Is it a new mascot?

...and I am surprised at such a liberal west-coast school they would tolerate a mascot whose very name was drawn from the mare that was this horse's mother - "Gunfire" - which invokes such violent, anti-social imagery...
but even worse - students at UC-Davis are nicknamed the "Aggies" since the school was originally an agricultural school when first founded - thus the nickname -- and since agriculture has little to do with horses and mustangs - the connection is far from simple or logical and people ask all the time for some explanation where the mascot came from.
I've seen something similar since I've been working in Morton that the Potters are going through a bit of an identity crisis. They are known as the Potters still but they have also been referred to as the Hogs? There are bumper stickers that seem to echo the Arkansas Razorback as well. Tell me if I'm wrong?

The"Hogs" thing is specific to the football team, and is driven mostly by the football booster club. To be honest, I don't like it.
