  • Campus visits this weekend

    According to good sources...

Darius Austin is visiting today and possibly tomorrow (no relation to Larry Austin, Jr.)
AAU teammate Peyton Allen won't accompany as he is at Wisconsin Elite Camp
Alec Peters is also at Wisconsin Elite Camp, as will Nate Taphorn (does BU have an "Elite Camp" - if not we gotta get one started!)
Kendall Sydney may accompany Austin - gerry might know...
KJ Langston will be on campus Saturday

New video on BU recruit Erick Locke - LINK
Milton Doyle - still waiting at the mercy of the NCAA Clearinghouse

One last comment - a brand new premium article on Mislav Brzoja says he's still out there and is not yet committed...
This story reveals some very interesting details...that Brzoja has a perfect 4.0 GPA at the Indiana school (Traders Point), but that his grades and test
scores from his Croatian transcript were not adequate for the rigorous Northwestern University admission standards...
So, being declined by Northwestern, Brzoja thought he could turn to Dayton as he was promised...but in the meantime Dayton filled their entire 2012 class and
despite trying to pry someone loose - simply could NOT Jank anyone to free up a scholarship -- so Brzoja is STILL LOOKING!!

"It's now June, and Brzoja is still without a destination for college.
A three-star guard with high-major potential, he must quickly search
for somewhere -- anywhere -- to attend.
That's how the strange chapter of Mislav Brzoja...came to an end.."

Just a bit more -- the Northwestern site also has a nice article on Sterling Brown -a kid that both Northwestern and U of I are going after

and one more tidbit out of Northwestern...just shortly after denying admission to Mislav Brzoja...
Northwestern also withdrew their scholarship offer to previously VERBALLED Milos Kostic,
another Croatian and friend to Brzoja who was also playing at the same private school, Trader's Point Academy..

One other previous BU recruit Matej Buovac is in Europe competing currently at the Adidas Eurocamp 2012.
Scouts from dozens of European teams were there so obviously Buovac, despite his verbal to play this coming season at New Mexico State
is still shopping his talents and seeing if he gets an "offer he can't refuse"....

      Here's more...
2013 BU recruit Toby Hegner - LINK - is at Creighton's "Elite" camp this weekend - his father talked with a Wisconsin recruiting site and said he's having a great summer and will decide soon...
He is also visiting Saint Louis & Nebraska this week.

Another 2013 BU recruit Luke Worthington is also blowing up...he claims to have offers from 21 different schools but does not list Bradley

And here are some other brand new recruiting articles on some other BU recruits...

This is unfortunate for him...and possibly for BU that we aren't in a position to get him. I would have loved to see a shooter with his capability at BU.
Now we're stuck with the same shooting deficiencies for the 2012-'13 season. At least it seems we have picked up a couple good transfers - one being a pretty good shooter.

No word on how the visit Hilltop went (of is still going?), but Butler, Baylor, Michigan st. Nebraska, Tennessee & Xavier have all called D Austin in the last day or two.

Getting them to campus is like strike one....it's nowhere near as impressive or as enjoyable as strike three.....

BTW - brand new subscriber article on Jabari Parker - says a few interesting things about his recruitment...

One of the schools thought to be on the inside track in landing Parker is University of Illinois
but here's what Jabari says about the major midwest programs who are after him.....not promising for the Illini...
"Coach Izzo is a very good guy and they are a family oriented organization.
They go to the finals of the tournament a lot and they are a big contender in the Big Ten.
I'm looking forward to learning more about how I could grow there.

Kansas is a real good program. They just came from the national championship game
and when I go to college I want to win so whatever school is hot, and whatever schools have the best players,
and whoever has the best system…I'll be looking forward to going there."

Then on his "relationship with [new Illinois coach] John Groce?"...
"I don't know right now. I wanted to give my coach an opportunity to see him
so I can have some more comfort. I don't really know coach Groce as a person or what kind of system he runs..."

I don't think Illinois has any chance, and it seems Coach Groce knows it. I've heard him talk about focusing on kids who want to be at Illinois, and want to graduate from college.

Creighton just received their 2nd verbal commitment in 2 days from a 2013 recruit-
Darian Harris, a very good shooting guard from Arkansas just verballed to the Bluejays. The rich keep getting richer.
It would be nice to land a stud player or two for BU for the class of 2013.

I'd settle for a whole lot of solid, 2nd/3rd Team ALL MVC caliber players who play smart and relentless, to get the ball rolling.

Don't know if BU is in the 'rich' category yet that get studs who just drop in from no where.

Better than hoping to win the lottery...

I do not know about that. I'm sure Kentucky is happy about their last one and done player! I would nor mind one bit having him on board!
