Tennesse Tech Scouting Report
One guy picks them second in OVC behind Samford...........They are 1-2 on the year and play Wisc-Milw Sunday.
"Tennessee Tech could also give Samford a run for its money. The Golden Eagles, 19-12 a season ago, lost three starters, but they have a surprisingly experienced squad. Eight players received at least 15 minutes per game last season and their top two scorers -- Anthony Fisher (12.9 ppg) and Belton Rivers (12.0 ppg) -- return. Strangely enough, both came off the bench last season."

Murray State only beat Eastern Illinois tonight, 53-50 in Murray which may be the very first conference game played this season.
As for Tennessee Tech, they truly are one of the most victory-starved teams in the land. They've become more competitive in the OVC recently, but I think it's only because Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee left for the Sun Belt Conference and the prospect of playing Division I-A football. The Golden Eagles have not been to the NCAA Tournament since 1962, and the experience was not a good one. They lost to Notre Dame in the first round of the Mideast Regional 110-40 ! They have come closer to capturing that elusive automatic bid in the past five years, but still haven't been able to get over the hump. I think they can play with Milwaukee on Saturday and head into Wednesday's game with a little momentum. It will be interesting to see how the Braves respond to tonight's loss."The NCAA is so upset about alleged recruiting violations at Kentucky that they decided to give Cleveland State the Death Penalty"--Jerry Tarkanian

Ya know, the older I get, the more I often I catch myself in a CRS moment (Can't Remember Stuff--yeah, that's it--Stuff). Tennessee Tech DID suffer a major blowout in their last NCAA appearance, but it was in 1963, not 1962. The team that mauled them was not Notre Dame, but Loyola-Chicago (the year the Ramblers won all the marbles). And, the Golden Eagles did not lose by 70 points, instead it was 69 (111-42). I DID check the stats for the game, and TTU was 6 of 7 from the foul line and an ungodly 18 of 82 from the field! Sorry for the misinformation--it wasn't intentional--just age !"The NCAA is so upset about alleged recruiting violations at Kentucky that they decided to give Cleveland State the Death Penalty"--Jerry Tarkanian

I listened to their VERY short postgame.
They mentioned the Bradley game coming up. They are encouraging their fans to come out big for the game. They are doing a double header with the women's team playing before the men's.
TTech Coach Sutton mentioned how they are gonna play an inside game in a battle against Bradley's outside game.
COACH SUTTON SAID MORE THAN ONCE: "WE NEED OUR FANS TO COME OUT FOR THIS GAME AGAINST BRADLEY. THIS IS THE BEST TEAM TO COME IN AND PLAY US IN A LONG LONG TIME."
I checked at collegerpi.com... it shows complete schedules back to the 93-94 season. He's right.
BradleyBrave - I, too, am worried about this game (and after a big emotional game). I remember when they came in last year, they looked very confident. They played very hard. In fact, we trailed by 4 at the half. They are gonna be ready for Wednesday - along with a road win to boost their confidence.

Lost to a good Illinois team.
TennTech is gonna be tough.
Mich St will be really tough.
So what? Pack it in on the season?
For craps and giggles:
I say we can beat Wright at home.
Then we lose vs Iowa St.
Only to return and hold home court against Loyola and S Miss.
That's 8-4 in the non-con. Pretty good in a 'rebuilding' year.
Anything more is gravy.

Another thing about TennTech.
Yea, they finally got their 1st win so far this season. So far they had lost at Kansas State by 22 (101-79). Then they lost at Mississippi by 9 (86-77).
Winning AT Wisc-Mil is noteworthy because of what Wisc-Mil has done: lost at Michigan by 7 (66-59) and lost at Northern Iowa by 11 (69-5.
So by that, I think they beat a fair team tonight.

Tennessee Tech biggest guy is 6'9" and he can't play yet. They do have a bunch of guys at 6'7". The best one on the boards is Amandi McKenzie. He averages 11 rpg.
Against UW-Milwaukee, 10 guys played at least 10 minutes. Not much of a three point shooting team according to the stats.
Last year, TT was 12-3 at home and average 3,034 fans. It looks like they have a nice facility that holds just over 10,000.1996 & 2019
