  • NBA Draft Combine Measures

Official measurements from this week's NBA Predraft Camp in Chicago will be released Friday.
Here are a few reports that have leaked out-
Perry Jones III was the star of Day 1 at the NBA draft combine. Working out with the power forwards, he showed off his otherworldly athleticism and dispelled concerns about his intensity...

Here are measurements from a variety of earlier camps-
NBA Draft scouting reports, mock drafts, articles on NBA Draft Prospects. Extensive high school, NCAA and international NBA draft coverage.

Report from the NBA Combine in Chicago- the top players sat out the competition. The most impressive shooting was from former BU recruit, and Weber State guard Damian Lillard, and the most impressive big man was Illinois Meyers Leonard!-

I've heard more positive discussion on Leonard than I expected from national sources. Most of the analysis says that this is a draft with one elite player followed by a good amount of solid players.

The actual official measurements at the NBA Draft Combine were just distributed to the media, so they will probably be posted online shortly.
A lot of interesting numbers- Jae Crowder, the Big East Player of the Year and a power forward from Marquette was always listed as 6'6" or 6'7", but measured only 6'4 3/4". That won't help him in this year's draft.
Also, interesting that there is not a legitimate 7-footer at the camp. 2 players measured 7-foot with shoes on, Syracuse's Fab Melo (who was only 6'10 3/4" without shoes), and Tyler Zeller, who was the tallest player at 6'11 1/4" without shoes, and 7' 1/2" with shoes.

Jeff Goodman of CBS has tweeted images of the measurement sheet-

I can't believe I'm actually watching live coverage of this thing. But I am.

6'4.75" worked well for Barkley,(his claimed real height on a TBS broadcast) but those exceptions do not happen much.

Where's Leonard's height on the chart? I thought Mattson said last night he officially measured 6'11" and 7'1.5" in shoes.

Meyers Leonard's name appears to have been cut off on the 2nd picture. The names skip from Doron Lamb at the bottom of the 2nd picture to Damian Lillard at the top of the 3rd picture.

And you are right, he was actually measured as the tallest player at the combine. Another source says he was 6'11 3/4" in socks, and 7'1 1/4" in shoes.

There are a number of scouts and reporters now saying Leonard is a certain lottery pick-

He seems to be moving up mock draft boards, but there's still time for teams to fall in and out of love with other players. It looks like most mocks have him in the 10-20 range with most closer to 10.

                From hoopshype.com (as the 16):

"Meyers Leonard lacks the NBA readiness and polish of someone like Tyler Zeller, but scouts feel he has more upside. A team will need to be patient with him, and the Rockets have two picks and a diversified roster. Leonard is one the draft's biggest boom or bust players. And there's a real chance he will end up realizing his potential in his second contact, with his second team. Despite Illinois' collapse, Leonard remains a highly sought after prospect. He's a fluid big man with great size and ability to add strength. He's still a work in progress and would have benefited from another year of development in college, but his upside is enough where he will get looks in the late lottery based on his upside."

They have Leonard ahead of Sullinger so take this analysis with a grain of salt. That would definitely surprise me.
