Am I the only person that thinks this is outrageous? What's stopping UNC from hiring McDermott as an assistant to get... well McDermott (assuming the coach wasn't his dad). Or to stop any BCS school from doing exactly this to get a player they want?

College BBall gets more and more shady everyday has new loopholes and strategies are exposed and purposely left open...

I don't think that SMU wanted Nic Moore from ISU so badly that they convinced Jank to take an assistant coaching position. I'm relatively certain that this was just a fortunate result of the situation.

but given that Moore stated prominently right off the bat he was going to a BCS program no matter who was the coach, then the rumors were that wanted to go to Illinois, Purdue, or Notre Dame...

...this looks in the end like Moore aimed a little too high, found himself with limited options & not getting the offers he expected
or that his "handlers" had told him he'd be getting, and settled for another mid-major program that's going to transition while battling DePaul for the basement the next several years...

"As soon as coach (Tim) Jankovich left, I made up my mind and knew I wanted to go play for a BCS program,”
Moore said on the school’s athletic website after leaving the Redbirds’ program.
“It didn’t matter who was going to be the head coach. My decision had already been made.”
