Ex-BU star Joe Bircher finally got his first start as a pro tonight (Sat. 6/23) and he did well. He started for the Tri-City Valleycats of the New York-Penn League vs. the Connecticut Tigers in the first game of a doubleheader. Joe went only 2 2/3 innings in his first start, and gave up only 1 unearned run. Unfortunately, his Tri-City Valleycats lost the game 2-1.
