Here's a name that has not been previously mentioned...but he was in Peoria to interview for the position..
....Mt. Union assistant Cole Pittis who played at Muskingum for Geno Ford. He also spent three seasons in a similar role at Akron.

I have no idea who the leading candidate(s) is/are, but do know of two people who have been associated with the job. They have one thing in common - both have ISU ties. One is a longshot (he would be well down Geno's list) and the other is a reach (he is applying for assistant positions and would look at this as a fallback).#DunkOnYou

According to Nationally listed job postings...
Bradley is also hiring a
HEAD women's Tennis Coach - LINK
Previous head coach Scott Peterson now works here
Jesse Plote, the men's tennis coach, is serving as Interim Head Coach of women's tennis.
Asst. Volleyball Coach - LINK (Melissa Emkes is no longer listed as an assistant and there have been no releases pertaining to her, although she was listed as assistant on the summer VB camp brochure just a couple weeks ago)
as well as Head Women's Basketball Coach, Men's DBO, and Sports Marketing Assistant.
BTW - regardless of what some people said - when BU was interviewing and sorting thru candidates in 2011 for the HC hire - numerous candidates - even several who made visits for an interview declined the job after specifics were laid out & it was offered to them - thus causing the offer to go up and up until the hire was made.
Now we see even for the DBO - several candidates being interviewed and nobody's landed the job yet - does anyone know what's going on?Last edited by tornado; 06-19-2012, 12:31 PM.

Bradley hires a new women's tennis coach- Chris Williams, a 2-year assistant at Air Force-
PEORIA, Ill. ? Chris Williams has been named the 10th head coach in Bradley Women's Tennis history, according to an announcement today by Bradley Director of Athletics Dr. Michael Cross.
“The arrival of Chris Williams signals the beginning of a new era for Bradley women’s tennis,” Bradley athletics director Michael Cross said. “Chris is a very hard worker, he is thoughtful and he will raise our competitive expectations as soon as he steps on the court.”
The Bradley women's tennis team has been pretty awful. They finished 4-19 this season, and they were 0-10 at home, and 0-7 in MVC matches (2012).
In 2011 they were 3-20, 0-7 in the MVC. In fact, Bradley has only won 1 match in MVC in the last 6 seasons combined, and they have been the last place team in the MVC almost every year for more than a decade.
Rumors-
The new men's basketball Director of Basketball Operations should be announced any day.
He is from Ohio.
The search had to be restarted after an earlier candidate backed out.

Maybe there aren't very many folks with ties to the university qualified for these positions.
As it relates to the DBO, you'd really have to just want an opportunity. A young high school head coach who teaches full time would likely make more money than the Bradley DBO.

but in the same Italian vein - maybe we should hire someone who has gobs of ties to the Chicago high school scene
We should have never let this guy get away, but there's still plenty of top guys available
even tho it's too late to talk to Milton Doyle's coach but maybe not too late to get someone that'll help....

So we want to make sure the programs that have been really bad are coached by people with ties to that program that is really bad? Seems to me you might want to go the opposite direction..?
