For the 74th billion time, 20 win seasons have no instrintic value when we get to 20 just because of the CBI or CIT. In my mind he posted 2 20-win seasons, not 4.

20 is nothing but a round, pretty number. You used to be allowed only 27 games in regular season play. Now it's 28, with multiple games in non-con tourneys allowed to be counted as a single game. The value of a 20-win season has changed in the last decade, and I'm sick and tired of people leaning on "20-win seasons" as an arbitrary benchmark.

In a different regard, people trying to diminish the sweet 16 are morons.

The entirety of their postseason history has been within the last 30 years, and to be honest, their resumes during my bracketology career suggest they should have more than that.

Maybe so, but it sure makes the season more exciting.

I am supporting this staff and Bradley and giving Coach Ford a chance to be successful without all of the passive aggressive comments in the process. Again, time will tell. But to make that contention now seems narrow minded.
hmm... You must have too much time on your hands to keep track of my posts. Let's clarify a couple of things here. Yes I strongly believe that we overpaid for Geno's services. Currently I believe that we are very upside down with coaching as compared to money spent. With the type of money we were throwing around for a coach last year, we should, IMHO, have been able to hire a more established coach. Instead, we paid really good money for potential. Like most posters on this board, I believe that we need to give Geno and his staff 3-4 years to see what he can do with the team. At the beginning of last season, I wasn't expecting much in terms of the win-loss record, and I wanted to be impressed with this staff. To date, it is not a shocker to say that I am not impressed. For the upcoming season, I am wiping the slate clean and want to see what Geno and staff can do with some of his players in place. Believe it or not, I WANT Geno to change my initial impressions. I personally have set the bar very low and have written off next season from a win-loss standpoint while waiting to see what year three will bring. I want to see player development and a coach who utilizes strategies that fit his team. As for your narrow minded comment, keep in mind that I wanted to hear what KSUFan had to say, and I was among the first posters on the board to discredit his assumptions from the links he provided regarding Geno tweeting his KSU players. (while also stating that nobody here really knows for certain if Geno has a twitter account or not--who cares--)
            Until next time...

You assume that nobody here knows whether or not Geno has a twitter account.

Beninator, we both agree 100% that Geno made a few questionable decisions this first season, mainly in not tailoring the offense to the players he had here. But of course the other side of that argument is that maybe that was his intent, that is to put his system into place to be ready to go when his players come in.

That said though, he did come out of a conference that hasn't had an at-large bid in at least 12 years. Therefore, NIT bids are a bigger deal in lower major conferences than they are in the higher end mid-major conferences. In other words, making that tournament for two years was a good accomplishment for them, despite the fact that Kent St. has a history of making deep runs in the Big Dance. Yeah, he didn't win the big game in the conference tournament, but a lot of goofy things can happen in a three or four day tournament that are not always reflective on how well a team plays throughout the entire season.

However, since the Valley has had roughly 18 or so at-large bids over the last 12 years, I do expect Geno to take this team to the next level and get them into the Big Dance, hopefully sooner than later. The potential is there, and hopefully his salary will be indictative of how good of a coach we think he can be.

no - that is not what has been said...
but it is pretty darned hard to KNOW that he does NOT have one...and only one person would know for sure, and that person does not post on this board under his real name.
You might be UNAWARE of one but saying you know he DOES NOT have one is perceived by most others as simply your opinion and 100% impossible to prove.

tornado makes a logically correct statement. It is impossible to know with certainty that Geno does not have a twitter account. What we do know with certainty is that Geno does not have a twitter account in his name and prefers to make us belive that he does not have one at all.

Or maybe he has told people that he doesn't. So that's either the truth or a lie.

They've only been to the tournament five times and only twice made it out of the 1st round.

They did make it to the Elite 8 in 2002, but didn't get out of the 2nd round the year before that. Just one trip out of the 2nd round is hardly "a history" in my opinion.

I'm not sure how you define a "deep run", but I would say at least the Sweet 16 and they've only done that once.

That statement actually sounded just like the one KSUfan made about Geno loading up on 2-year players.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12
