...I also think that it is curious that all of a sudden the PJS has seen a need to reach out to the Bradley fan niche with complimentary articles after our worst season since 1935.
But WHY does this even matter? Good Lord! They finally give us what we've been asking for yet we now bash them for THAT. Crazy man! Just crazy. smh
As far as a Bradley/Illinois game, I guess I read the article a little differently. I got the sense that it wouldn't happen. When the two brothers' team competed against each other, they couldn't talk shop. Now that they aren't, they can. Why would they want to go back to silence if they like swapping ideas and talking about recruits? I guess I could see them entering the same in-season tournaments where they wouldn't be directly scheduled to play like what happened in Las Vegas a few years ago.

because it's not only so over-the-top gratuitously dripping with praise and adulation - it also goes over and over again back to blaming the whole mess on you-know-who...
it's pretty clearly a ploy to do EXACTLY what a lot of people said vociferously before was NOT their job - to be the PR-people for BU basketball...suddenly they are...they're the world's biggest cheerleaders!
I like that they are, but we all know why it's being done now when they went a gazillion miles out of their way before to avoid ever saying anything positive and claiming it was their job to be critical and not be cheerleaders...

Again, keeping in mind that this is the Illinois beat writer who's stories appear in multiple newspapers, don't you think that in this instance it's a stretch to refer to this as PJStar pro-BU propaganda?

For some reason some folks like to assign motive for every article. People can read between the lines of every article if they want and try to come up with why it was written....I really don't know how they do it...
I'm not that smart...I read it and know there is another paper tomorrow...take it for what it's worth and move on.
But here....everytime there is an article it ends being discussed like this...I don't get it.
Come on man! Let's stay on topic, please. This is good stuff!! It's what we've ALL been beggin' for... THANK YOU PJS!! It's about time!
I agree. These are good articles that I only learned about through the PJS - with the help of BF.com to post the links. I just read the article about the spring the Braves had, and it is good to know the things that are different about this spring from last. This gives Braves fans a little hope, and some insight into what's being done so we can improve, which is what ALL BU fans are looking for, right?
Some articles are full of fluff and vanilla, but the recent articles we've seen have been well-written and informative for us fans. Some of us are stuck on that one liner a couple weeks ago that inferred that Coach Les left Geno a mess. So we created a mess of our own. Let's give the PJS some credit for giving us Bradley basketball news at a time of year when things are slow.
True - we wish more articles would be written that dig a little deeper into student-athlete personalities and such, but we're not sportswriters so we don't have that authority.
What good is it going to do to keep harping on our dismal record the past 2 seasons - a new outlook and positive spirit is needed to turn around the program.

Even I didn't see anywhere in the story that Jim was being blamed for anything and you know I will always defend him against the likes of kw. Supine wrote a interesting story about 2 coaching brothers. What was wrong with that?
I haven't heard. Nor do I know if there is even interest from the folks in Urbana-Champaign.
Probably there is very little interest as you stated but now is a good time to play us. If they can't beat little old BU right now they'll never. If I was them I'd play the goodwill card as soon as possible.

I am sure Illinois would let us come to Champaign , I would hope we would not do this unless we get a home and home game, both programs could use 2 sellouts for the money.
