I guess that's why God gave us brains - so we can think and decide for ourselves - and not just believe everything everyone writes or says...
...so why can't we talk about some of the odd circumstances? Geez - it's not like the folks on the ISU board don't 2nd guess BU recruits...
I also was never one of those who criticized Nic Moore - although I don't see any reports of dozens of major, BCS-types tripping all over themselves trying to land him..
In fact - even quite a few ISU fans even seem a bit surprised and dismayed by the lack of feverish attention he's getting given there were so few quality transfers out there, and guys like Rayvonte Rice had 5 times the interest it seems Moore is getting.

oh, and DC - next week IS June - and like I said & like you conveniently didn't attempt to refute - there really isn't much evidence that Penn State was even going to offer.
I find that kinda beyond odd - and into the eye-popping range when Penn State, like the Illini don't really even have much help at PG for next year - so why aren't they incredibly hot after Keane?
Rhode island got tired of waiting and gave their offer to some other obscure guy....so clearly their interest in Keane was kinda shallow...

Time will tell - but nobody's trashing anyone - just having a litle conversation about the press reports that are clearly leaving something out...and why did Georgia Tech, Virginia, Nebraska, Tennessee, Marquette, Michigan State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Florida State, Arizona, Oregon, Rhode Island and all those other schools that were supposedly recruiting him "HARD" drop off?
There are some hints at the answer - and eventually it will be clearer.
..read that 11 page thread on the Rhode island board - there's plenty of people who have been following Keane since last summer wondering what's going on with him and why his lengthy list of BCS suitors changes dramatically every time he gives and interview, and why in the end he's down to Penn State (who didn't offer) and ISU.

can you show me a site that ranks him 3-Star that also says he has even one offer?
(and don't include message board chatter)

So I guess you could say this kid is an absolute steal who had legitimate BCS interest which dropped off because of unique circumstances. That's very intriguing to me. As long as the young man is ready to play this season, it sounds like a great get for Coach Muller. I've never seen him play, so I won't make any big predictions.

Not a recruiting junkie, but does rivals count? It shows him with a 3 star rating and an offer from ISU. Does that count as "even one offer"? They also have attached articles showing how he visited Pitt too.

You say don't use message board chatter to show he is a 3 star, yet you take message board chatter as gold to support your argument that something fishy is going on (when saying to look at the URI board or whatever that was). I only found one URI board that had 9 pages, not 11.

well of course we know he has an offer from ISU - or are you just trying to lighten things up??

BTW -- have you been reading some of the behind the scenes chatter on boards and twitter about the Jalen James decommitment from Illinois??

Seems James was top 100 and 4-Star a year ago but decided (like Bobo) to go to La Lumiere to RAISE his stock...but who (again, like Bobo) seems to have actually hurt his stock at La Lumiere, and dropped considerably in the rankings - so much so that Groce didn't even want the kid despite having a roster without a PG!

I understand that June is next week, but the way you attempted to make it sound as if it were a year away(not next week). Sorry my first post did not come across like I wanted it to.

There are several examples of evidence in this thread that showed more than ISU was involved, so I did not see a reason to offer any evidence. But here is some from this thread if that makes any difference.

"Alex Kline of TheRecruitScoop.com reports that in choosing to play for Illinois State on Tuesday, he went with the Redbirds ahead of Penn State, Purdue, Oklahoma State and South Florida. Not exactly a conventional decision, to be sure, but Keane tells the website why he made his decision to play under first-year head coach Dan Muller."

I assume this means that you're determining that Tracy Abrams isn't a PG.

For one thing Kaza is 5" inches taller than Nic Moore. Unfortunately defense was a problem area for Nic due to his size.

Great point! I am down to two myself (Duke and Kentucky). If only they offered me. Nic might be dreaming.

I don't know if he holds an offer, but I know that the guys in orange and blue like him. He's DJ Cooper-ish.

A DeKalb article says in it's title, that Jordan Threloff never "thought about transferring from ISU"...
but in the body of the story it says that he did think about transferring and...

"There was a lot of uncertainty around the program at the time.

???We didn??™t know [Muller]. We didn??™t know how he was going to change things. Who, if anyone, was going to leave,??? said Threloff....
                            Threloff never looked into transferring."

One more related note - Athlon ranks the TOP 10 new coaching hires - and ranks Groce, Bruce Weber - even Jim Christian but fails to rank ISU's Muller.
They do have a bit on both Muller & Hinson ..
and name Larry Brown & Tim Jankovich as their most PUZZLING hire..

Interesting. I read the article too. Below is every comment that Threloff made. Can you direct me to the one that says he did think about transferring?

???It was tough. ... It was just tough. That??™s probably the easiest and best way to say it,??? Threloff said of losing Jankovich. ???We didn??™t really know where to go from there. None of us had been through this before, obviously.???
???We didn??™t know [Muller]. We didn??™t know how he was going to change things. Who, if anyone, was going to leave,??? said Threloff, who averaged 3.2 points per game and 3.3 rebounds in 2011-12. ???What systems he was going to keep, who on our staff he was going to keep. We just weren??™t sure.???
                              Threloff never looked into transferring.

???No, not really,??? he said. ???I wanted to stay here for the most part. I wanted to be with these guys. It doesn??™t matter who the coach is, we have a great group of guys. We wanted to stick around.???
???It was good for me,??? he said of being able to play for Judson. ???At the same time, I wanted to stay. I wanted to stay, for the most part because I believe we have something special here. We have a great group of guys.???
I don't remember if it was you or not Tornado, but I do remember posters here saying that there would be many ISU players that did transfer out. Something a long the lines of "Players were tied to Jankovich and not Illinois State".

Outside of Nic Moore, no one else has left. And please don't say Trey Blue or D. Clark either. Both announced they were leaving before Jankovich ever talked to SMU.
