SIU-E Head Coach Lennox Forrester signed a new 3-year contract extension at SIU-E. Congratulations LF!

SIU-E finished with 10 wins, and 6-10 in the Ohio Valley Conference, and in 9th place (out of 11 teams) in their first season in the conference, and their first official D1 season. Considering how long it takes many new D1 teams to be respectable, this is a commendable job by Lennox.

I guess they are in it for the long haul. I am surprised by that but Congrats.

I really don't know one way or the other if Lennox is the right guy. But I think giving him time is the right approach to build the program.

I don't see any reason not to give LF more time. In his first year in D1 and in the OVC he did better than Eastern Illinois who has been there forever. SIU-E also had a better record than 7 other long-time Di schools in Illinois (EIU, NIU, UIC, Loyola, Chicago State, SIU, and Bradley). SIU-E has got to be one of the hardest schools in the country to recruit talent to, they have no basketball tradition or support, and yet Lennox did well with the very limited talent he had. I doubt anyone could have done better there.

Congratulations Coach Forrester! What he is trying to do at SIU-E is a very daunting task. He has obviously earned the respect of those in a decision-making position.
