I haven't heard or read anything, which is surprising. Especially since his hometown newspaper seemed to have an article about Jerrance Howard almost daily telling us what a great coach he is, how great a recruiter he is, how much demand there is for his services, and what schools were pursuing him and which ones were not (Illinois). Surprised there hasn't been a mention of the other Peoria assistant that is out of a job now. The last time Illinois changed coaches, the PJS seemed focused on McClain for a long time.

The offer at East Peoria still stands... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

hype
I never really understood why everyone says Jerrance was such a great recruiter...Did they ever win the Big Ten with all these so called his recruits? The last few years none of them have really lived up to the hype!! They have a lottery pick in Meyers, but did Jerrance have anything to do with that recruit? I guess i just do not see the success vs the hype

That was 8 years ago, though. Sadly, Wayne's time has come and gone. It might be time for retirement.

there's a current discussion on one of the Illini message boards about Wayne McClain with a bunch of different thoughts,
but one guy says Bruce Weber did speak to McClain about a position at Kansas State (a presumably non-coaching position).
There's no hint of what that position would have been or if it were actually offered - just says it was discussed, but then the presumption by others is that McClain declined the position because he preferred
to stay in Central Illinois even though he currently has no job and is not currently being mentioned in context of anything.
So - although I have trouble knowing what's in this thread that's believable - (kinda sounds a lot like a replay of 2003 when BS left for KU)
... at least there's a start for those who want to know what's up with WM.
If indeed WM was offered a position by his head coach to go to a solid Big 12 school and have a job that would likely be guaranteed for at
least 5 years or so since Weber will be there at least that long, and if indeed he turned it down, then I guess you'd have to believe history is repeating itself..

I seriously doubt WM would take a big step backward and take a DBO job, usually considered an entry-level job. He could earn many times more by retiring and taking his lucrative state pension.

tell me where in the past year or two - we see evidence that Bradley wants to go back, heal old issues, or wax nostalgic....
With the release of Joe Stowell, the changeover of virtually ever head coach that was here five years ago, and the plan to move games to the NEW arena it seems we are looking forwards not backwards.....

nor do I....but many of the fans - especially the "old timers" who are a large part of the support for BU - have great memories and strongly want to maintain our connections to the past...
You have and will see that many of them are harder to find now.......
