I couldn't see why he was still in the game with a 12 point lead and barely over a minute to play.

MRI confirms he has an ACL tear. Rose is out for the rest of the season. But I still think the Bulls can win the East with C.J. Watson and John Lucas III at PG.

I hope so too. I'm more worried though if they end up playing Indiana in the Eastern Conference Finals than Miami, as they have underachieved all year. But it is possible. I don't think we have much of a chance against San Antonio or Oklahoma City though.

Well, this makes me sick seeing this! Don't know why he was still playing that late in the game considering how many injuries he went through this year.

He was still playing because he was shaking off the rust of missing so many prior games. The biggest reason he was still in though was because Philly had just turned a 20 point deficit into a 12 point deficit so you put whoever you have to in the game to stop that run and make sure you get the victory.

You have to be kidding about Indiana instead of Miami! I'd rather play Indiana over Miami any day to reach the Finals! Two things happen in NBA playoffs:

Great D wins over great O and talent rises to the top. Miami has both over Indiana.

Maybe he was still in the game because he's making millions of bucks to play basketball. Hate to see it happen to him though. Seems like a class act.

I have no issues with D-Rose personally, but I don't see him as the great man many others do.

let's not forget that he cheated on his college entrance exams by having someone else take them for him. His lying got Memphis' 35+ wins erased, as well as its 2nd place finish.

He is a good player, but as a person maybe not the best role model.

I certainly never want to see anyone get hurt however.

Didn't know all that. Guess he's not the role model I thought he was.

You could do a lot worse with a role model than Derrick Rose. Derrick is very humble and extremely hard working, those are two traits we need more of in our youth. Just watch brief bit of his MVP speech last year and you can see a very young and very humble young man that has done much more good in his life than bad. While other athletes are out getting arrested and worse he is in the gym working to make him and his teammates better. Usually the best role models can be found right in your own house but as far as a professional athlete goes you can do far worse than Mr. Rose.

I agree Philly was making a run, but the Bulls weren't going to blow a 12 point lead in the last 1:14. All they had to do was run the shot clock down.

That said, I did have more time to think about this, and I can see why he was still in if for nothing else than to play his way back into shape. So I don't have a real issue with Thibs keeping him in. And for the few knucklehead Twitterers calling for him to be fired, well why even bother with these people!

Not sure what this has to do with his injury, but yeah, there was some shady dealing regarding Calipari when it came to handling his players. That said though, Rose has still turned out to be a decent human being and a very humble person regarding how he has handled his fame. Whether he had a year or two of "college" or declared for the NBA right out of high school, now that he is pro, it doesn't matter what went on in college. Besides, Calipari deservingly takes the heat for how he handled the player's academics.

Tru 'dat! Though he certainly conducts himself well in the NBA...and is a good representative for 'Da Bulls. The past is the past - maybe he's grown up.
When I look at a positive role model, I'm more inclined to go with Mr. Korver.

A lot of good guys that have graduated from BU too that have done a lot of good for the community and for society in general. Maybe we haven't seen success on the court lately, but off the court, there's tons of success to be found!

I agree he bears some responsibility but I am certain the whole ACT test ringer thing was all set up for him by his handlers and Derrick had little say in it...ultimately he did participate in the lie...
