SalukiTalk Extra has learned that Dantiel Daniels is considering withdrawing his request to transfer.
Sources close to both Daniels and Southern tell Extra that after requesting his release earlier this month, Daniels and his family have reconsidered his situation, and remaining a Saluki is now ???back on the table.???
Daniels and fellow freshman Treg Setty both requested their releases after the season. Southern, concerned about its academic standing with the new NCAA APR guidelines, has initially denied releases to both players. However, Southern has made it clear they will grant the releases if both players finish their Saluki careers with the APR mandated 2.6 grade point average. Southern has even offered to pay for tutoring to help both Daniels and Setty reach the 2.6 level. Setty has appealed his decision to a university committee, and awaits a decision. Daniels has not appealed.
