The Tim Jankovich story took an odd twist Friday with the revelation that the Illinois State basketball coach had signed a five-year contract extension at Illinois State following the season in March.
Prior to the extension, the coach already had multiple years remaining on his deal with ISU.

Jankovich has five years left on his current contract and hasn't given Illinois State any indication that he is leaving.
If the local paper is doing a story on the guy, why wouldn't they report how many years are left on his current contract. Yes. The initial post is likely not correct. It was based on some Twitter reports of a new contract with ISU. But probably those reports were confusing the contract he signed in March. There does not appear to be a new contract. He is apparently still undecided about whether to take SMU's offer.Comment

Here is the latest. This article reports the new contract deal that Jankovich signed in March, which lead to some reports yesterday that there was a new deal just completed.
