I agree. It seems as though he knew that he was one of two that had offers.

Well I am guessing since Grier hadn't committed he thought he had time to make sure he was making the right decision. Either way I do wish him well.(Unless he goes to iSU). I wish it would have worked out here. But it sounds like he is going to OK also.

Now we have 4 openings for next year !!!

Once Milton Doyle's visit to Kansas became public knowledge, his mother's phone has been ringing off the hook with new suitors-

I'll give credit where credit is due. Seems you may have been right shaunguth... Good call!

When Doyle visited here, he already had been contacted by Kansas and told the BU coaching staff he wanted to see how that played out before he made a decision. After a few days, Kansas set up a visit with him, which at that time was still a couple of weeks away.
Meanwhile, Grier gets back to BU and wants to commit. So now here's Bradley's scenario: Wait on Doyle and risk losing Grier or sign Grier now. Doyle maintains he wants to wait until the Kansas trip to decide. So BU signs Grier. The rumor that Doyle then contacted Bradley and wanted to commit to Bradley is false. Didn't happen.
So I don't think Bradley fans should feel bad about losing Doyle. Landing him was never in BU's control. And they end up with a good D-I player in Grier. Considering all the gut-wrenching stuff that happens regularly in recruiting, this isn't one that Geno and his staff are going to lose any sleep over. Milton Doyle is a kid they never had and Omari Grier was a sure thing. Easy decision.

a little promise of immediate playing time might still sway Doyle - - it could be done

First off, I thought the story was this couldn't happen. I wish it could have.

Then on to Dave's comments. I am not sure what to think of that.

First, I am not 100% sure this is the correct story. It could be an after the fact story. Again it could be correct. I am confused by different stories.

Second, even if the story is true. I still would have probably stuck with my first stance Wait to see if Doyle or Brzoja did not get to go to their first choices and have an opening available for them.

Third, the coaches have seen more of Grier than I have and may think he is just as good or better than either of those two.

And then maybe the coaches thought we had very little chance at either of them.

For point #2 - that is what gets a coach fired. Holding out hope for Plan A, letting plan B, C, and D get away and then settling on plan F. Enough of those and you get a roster full of plan E and a team that is F level.

#3 - At least with Grier we know he can produce at a D1 level. There is no guarantee on Doyle or Brzoja. They could come in and be Courtney Lee or they could come in and be not good.

Milton Doyle remains uncommitted. He is waiting to see if Kansas extends an offer. I suspect he is a fall back option for Kansas and they are asking him to hold out and wait to see if they have a spot for him.-

How is this possible? Aren't our schollies all filled?

Anyways, as badly as our team was last season, I couldn't see him getting a ton of minutes next season - maybe 15 max.
WL, DSE, JE, SS, JC should have enough experience to get ample P.T. at guard. And KB should get some as well.

there are ways... they've been discussed..

anyway - something funny here about Milton Doyle -- we're told how good he is...he's getting attention from Kansas - for gosh sakes...
he's better than many of the kids in Illinois who have already committed, etc., etc....

And yet - here he sits, almost to June, LOI signing period already done and gone, schools filling or already having filled all their open scholarships, not many places you'd wanna go even have options left, and even the schools like Kansas that claim he wants to go there, and others are saying Kansas wants him -and YET...
he apparently still doesn't actually have an offer and they are telling him to wait out there potentially leaving him high and dry??

Can someone tell me what's missing here?? If the guy is loaded with top offers then he wouldn't still be hanging out waiting to see if something finally clicks in June or July...
this is sounding more and more like the Ryan Hare debacle or Cully Payne merry-go-round...

I agree. I think Geno got the guy he wanted.

It's being reported that the Kansas offer could come any day now... He's definitely a fall back option for KU. I've heard Marquette could be a late player if KU doesn't offer... He'd get Marquette's final scholarship.

The path has now been cleared for Doyle to get an official offer from Kansas. South Carolina transfer Damontre Harris is now headed to Florida, instead of KU. Expect news very soon that Doyle is going to KU.

                                Doyle

Having seen Doyle in person on several occasions there in NO way he is ready for Kansas..If this does happen you can thank Isiah Thomas for this placement...always remember this..sometimes if you wait late into the spring/summer you will go higher than you should..i hope he enjoys sitting the bench..no way he stays 4 years at Kansas..maybe BU lands him when he transfers out soon.
