  • 2012 prospect Milton Doyle

Milton Doyle is a senior at Chicago Marshall HS. Doyle was committed to Florida International University, but after they fired their coach Isiah Thomas, he asked for and was granted a release from his LOI and has reopened his recruiting.

Milton Doyle played last year at Chicago Marshall HS. He started at Tilden HS, but transferred to marshall after his sophomore year. Then an injury kept him from playing his junior year. As a senior, he was the tallest player on the Marshall team at 6'4". He played every position, including mostly point guard, and averaged 19 ppg, 7 rpg, and 5 apg this past season.
He played little AAU ball, so he stayed under the radar, and was a late bloomer. He had a great senior year, even though Marshall wasn't very good this year. Marshall plays in one of the toughest high school leagues in the country, the Chicago Public League.
Milton Doyle played in an all star game this past weekend, and was the star of the game. He is very athletic, and has developed his outside shot this past year, and is now a pretty good shooter.

He has been released from his LOI at FIU-

I think Doyle would be a big get. I am not sure what kind of shot we have with him. But I would be as excited or more excited than when we got Fields.

I also watch some video of Grier and I was surprised he looked good also.

I assume we only take one more player this year. It will be interesting to see who we get.

Doyle improved a great deal in the course of his senior year. He went from being an unknown to being a highly rated member of the 2012 class. From what is reported about him on premium recruiting sites, he has developed a pretty reliable outside shot to go with his ability to get to the basket and score.

        Will he be visiting soon?

I guess the other important questions are.. grades and act.
          Is he already a qualifier?

No word about a visit, but I think Bradley has been in contact now that he is back on the market.
He has only been "back on the market" a couple days, and he is still in school and probably preparing for finals, so I suspect it might take time for him to make visits.

Coach Ford visited Doyle in Chicago earlier in the week, and checked him out. He remains an option, but no visit is currently scheduled.

I would love to have him. I wonder if Bradley is a fallback option to him. Could be many different reasons we didn't get a visit scheduled. Even if we don't end up with a visit I am glad we took a shot. He is the level of player we need. I think Parker and Austin are a waste of our time, but the next level down would be a home run for us.

I have just learned that Milton Doyle will be on campus at Bradley today for a visit. He'll also likely scrimmage with some of Bradley's players this afternoon.

Hopefully Milton will hit it off with Walt, a fellow Chicagoan.
