Word is that Doyle may not qualify academically for KU... He's got an offer but must wait until graduation this week to see if he gets the grades. Marquette fans seem to think they still have a chance.

in today's paper in Kansas --
"....Self clarified his incoming recruiting class of 2012 on Friday.
..Red-shirt freshmen Ben McLemore and Jamari Traylor..
..signees Perry Ellis, Landen Lucas, Zach Peters and Andrew White.
The other two players in the class figure to be
Anrio Adams, a combo guard from Seattle
... and Milton Doyle, a point guard from Chicago. Both are awaiting their ACT
test scores to be matched with final grades to see if they qualify academically.
If, as expected, they qualify, it is believed they??™ll be in KU??™s recruiting class. In
fact, it is believed both have filled out their scholarship grant-in-aid papers."

Others on their message boards don't believe it is likely both Adams and Doyle will be on the team...
..maybe Nic Moore is waiting to see if Kansas has an extra scholarship...

Milton Doyle officially accepts a Kansas basketball scholarship...
this move however is a token move only - perhaps to try to sway the NCAA Clearinghouse into granting Doyle a favor -
since they admit that they know the Clearinghouse's ruling on Doyle's eligibility won't be issued until late this summer.
Milton Doyle, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound combo guard out of Chicago’s Marshall High, will be attending Kansas University on basketball scholarship this season. Doyle — he averaged 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals a game his senior season — will arrive in Lawrence on Sunday and begin summer school classes on Monday, sources […]

the Trib is reporting that since the end of the school year Milton Doyle has completed two online courses and submitted the grades and course specifics to NCAA and is awaiting their ruling...

Does anyone else wonder how a kid can complete two entire courses online in just a few weeks??? Sounds like something Quin Snyder used to pull off......

I actually did this often in college... BU in fact will allow you to complete 6 courses over the summer. Roughly 2 in May, 2 in June, and 2 in July. If BU will allow you to do that, I don't see why a kid couldn't complete 2 HS courses over summer.

In general, I have a problem with on-line high school courses.

Thomas thought so highly of Doyle he helped pass the word to Kansas about him.

Milton Doyle fully qualified to be eligible this year
Kansas University freshman guard Milton Doyle has qualified academically to play basketball at KU this season, coach Bill Self told the Journal-World on Friday night. The NCAA informed the 6-foot-4 guard out of Marshall High on Friday afternoon that he was fully qualified, Doyle’s mom, Lisa Green, told the Chicago Tribune. The Tribune reported that […]

not that it matters now but I ran across this Class of 2012 ranking...very interesting...

Milton Doyle is ranked a surprisingly low #22
                        Fred Van Vleet (15), Aaron Simpson (17), Keith Carter (18 ), Ka'Darryl Bell (26), Anthony Beane (29), Brett Bisping (36), and Jacoby Roddy (38 ) -
all got more interest and way better D-I offers than did some of the guys he has ranked even in the Top 10

Classic case of "opinions vary", especially when it comes to college recruiting.
