  • Recruiting- the next scholarship

Who would fans like to see Bradley Coach Geno Ford land with the other open scholarship?

I am hearing that Bradley is now recruiting other available high school seniors. They include players who's names have not yet appeared associated with Bradley. Visits are being arranged.

Most of the fans I have talked to would like to see at least 1 other new recruit who can contribute next season, as opposed to another transfer from a 4-year school who have to sit out a year..

i agree, some help this year would be nice, i would like to see us a get another big myself. I still think we have the shooters they just need a big that is a threat to open things up.

I say get the best player available to us, no matter if it's a player from high school, prep school, juco, or a transfer. We'll have 4 players this coming season that didn't play last season. A transfer big or juco big would be my choice for this last scholarship.

While I do expect to be more competitve in Geno's second season, I don't expect a huge jump in the standings. I'm really looking for improvements from Crawford and Shayok. That would be a huge plus for this team! I will, however, expect the wins/losses to turn around in year 3, which is what I've said all along. That's when the majority of the players on the roster will be Geno's players.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

How about a 6'4" combo guard with athleticism off the charts, can handle the ball, play the point, shoots the three well, and scores in a bunch of different ways. A kid who averages 19-20 ppg against the best competition there is, and is eligible right away. Let's hope we can get him to campus!

Sounds good to me, but that type of player usually blows up to a BCS school this time of year.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

That is true. Guess we'll see if we can compete with them.

Samd2,please don't take this wrong because I must have missed something. Who in the h--l were our shooters. We are going to be so much better inside next year with WE and the JC kid that I think JP will ride the pines unless he gets ALOT better this summer. WE NEED A SHOOTER BAD. Lets hope we can find one with our last ride. I think we are just an outside shooter from the middle of the pack. Without one we are Thur . night next year too. When WL is our best outside shooter we have problems.

Yes....WL was our best outside shooter.....by .5 percent. If indeed "we are going to be so much better inside next year", then that should open things up even more for WL, DSE, and JC. I'm more concerned with our free throw shooting and stopping the layup drills against us every night.

As long as the kid can shoot! Now can you tell us a bit more?

Wild guess from nowhere except size and we once recruited him.

Nice try- but not the guy we are recruiting. Armstead moved to California, and I do not believe he is in the picture at all for Bradley.

Senior, Aaric Armstead, is Bullard's leading scorer and a huge reason why they are still alive in the state playoffs. He's yet to commit to a college program, but it's not for a lack of interest. Here are some of the schools that have made official offers, recently.

I want a big guy who can contribute in 2013-2014. Everything is setting us up for a run at the MVC championship in 2013-2014.

We will be set up to have a PG in Fields, two combo guards in Crawford and Bell, and Lemon (who is a 2, IMO)
We an play Shayoc at the three, and use one of the scholarships next year on a wing.

That sets us up inside with Pickett, Prosser, and Wells. I think Wells can be a valuable contributor and I love everything I have heard about him, but I think he still might be a year away from contributing in a big way in 2013-2014. If we want to win big in two seasons, I think we need to add another big guy. We also need to get him in the weight room yesterday.

This whole scenario is banking on both Fields (or Bell) and Pickett being really good, and Shayok improving a ton.
