For the record here are Matt Stainbrook's numbers in his just completed sophomore season..
Overall - 27 mpg, 11.4 ppg (19th in the MAC), 6.8 rpg (T-6th in MAC), 61.6% FT shooting, .580 FG shooting (led MAC)
Conference only - 9.6 ppg (30th in MAC), 6.7 rpg (9th in MAC)
In the MAC tourney -
Game 1 vs. #9 seed Ball State, Stainbrook was 3-7, 10 pts, 9 rebs
Game 2 vs. #12 seed NIU, Stainbrook was 2-4, 9 pts, 9 rebs
Game 3 vs the #4 seed Kent State, a 76-72 loss, Stainbrook had 10 pts, 3 rebs and Matt was ejected for throwing a flagrant elbow
when they were down 68-49 with 8 minutes remaining, then WMU rallied without Matt to close to 75-72.
So basically he was better than any big on the roster last year. And he has a mean streak. Sounds great to me!

This is exactly the kind of leader and enforcer we've been missing at Bradley; Matt Salley was the last we had. I love that this guy could fire up his team like this! We need this kind of "presence" here at Bradley. COME HOME BIG FELLA!
Stainbrook's stats do not look that much different than Echenique or Stutz sophomore stats.
Mostly, though, I am more excited about the added bulk/attitude he brings that will make practices more competitive and the team more complete.
No official reason for him leaving Western Michigan was ever given, but he had a falling out with his coach.
Stainbrook sent a tweet that he was asked to leave WMU. Some fan reports indicate he had a very rocky tenure at WMU. The toss from the MAC tournament game for throwing an elbow might have been the last straw.
