I agree - he's not a starter as a freshman in the Big Ten - but from everything I hear - I think he'll be ok down the road...

And a couple recruiting sites in Chicago are reporting he's leaning strongly toward commiting to Kansas State, and that Weber wants him.

Before the season started Harv Schmidt, well known recruiting analyst, rated Orris one of the top PG's in the state. He also thought we got a steal with Bell signing with us. In fact he said Bell might be better then Orris. I do realize all state teams can be a little political but neither Orris or Bell made 1st or 2nd team all state. Orris made honorable Mention and Bell had no mention at all. Think Orris made good decision to leave Illinois. Not sure K State is where he should go but thats his decision. I think Orrris and Bell both valley type players.

If it was for Illinois, there is no way that they would want Matt Roth. They need a point guard, not the basketball equivalent of a DH.
If Antonio Drummond balks at going to SIU, I would hope Illinois goes after him. He'd be a nice back up PG for Abrams until James arrives. If not, bank the scholarship as there are a lot of good players available in the class of 2013.

Michael Orris, the point guard who had been committed to Illinois and who was released after the coaching change, has committed to Kansas State. he will play for Bruce Weber, who originally recruited him at Illinois-
And Illinois has 1 additional player- Sam McLaurin is a 5th year transfer from powerhouse Coastal Carolina, where he averaged 9.7 ppg. He will be eligible immediately. He actually could help the Illinois frontcourt a little.-
