      I personally like both Fields and K Bell better than Orris. I could be wrong. I have been many times before. That is why I say in my opinion.

      I am not a big fan of Orris. I think this is a very good thing for Illinois.

        I would consider Fields a better option. I also believe Bell to be equally as good as Orris... Plus, they are not head case prima donnas.

          Beane > Orris
          Simpson > Orris
          Bell = Orris

            Fields is not a shooter or scorer...his own AAU coach constantly says he a pass first guy -- which is OK by me....but Orris can add some scoring...

            Orris was coveted by Creighton, Bruce Weber, and other schools...and here's what one recruiting article said about him when he verballed to Creighton...
            "Big 10 schools, Pac 10 schools, ACC schools and a bunch of mid-major schools showing interest.???
            The Illinois coaching staff is obviously interested in him, as they have been tracking him throughout July ..
            On his AAU team he is the leading scorer.."

              I understand that he was encouraged to look for other options by the new Illinois staff.

                I would still rather have Fields... and he can score if needed. You, of all people, were saying early last year how a PG should not have to be a scorer. Fields will make everyone around him better; we need that. He's also not a head case and is an accomplished student and leader... A high character guy.

                  You're right. Everyone who was screaming for more assists out of the offense should love a guy like Fields. I'd look forward to his development, working with Coach Scott.

                      That's certainly a different report than what I heard.

                        What are you hearing?
                        Note that it took Michael Orris less that 24 hours after he was released from his LOI to visit the KSU campus in Manhattan, Kansas.
                        And a couple recruiting sites in Chicago are reporting he's leaning strongly toward commiting to Kansas State, and that Weber wants him.

                            He was rated and ranked lower than many other PG's in his class. He appears to be about on par with KD Bell. If Orris is smart he'll stay mid-major like Bell did.

                                But didn't both of those have to make a name and prove themselves at a "lower" level first before they were accepted by "the establishment"? I think Orris will need to do the same.
