Kansas assistant coach Danny Manning was just named head coach at Tulsa. That leaves an assistant coaching vacancy at Kansas right at the key time that Kansas wants to make a move to restock with some of the abundance of talent in Illinois for the 2013 and 2014 classes. So the rumor is that Kansas will make a serious attempt to hire super-recruiter Jerrance Howard away from Illinois. And Kansas probably has enough money to pay him more than Illinois can afford to pay him.
There are also rumors that Kentucky wants to hire Jerrance Howard back as a recruiter. Jerrance initially worked as an administrative assistant to Billy Gillispie at Texas A&M, then as DBO at Kentucky under Gillispie, before coming to Illinois. Just how loyal is JH to Illinois? I guess we'll find out.
