RUMORS circulating that Brad Stevens has met and been offered by Illinois
some people on the twitters are sayin' that wish in indianapolis is reporting stevens to illinois is a done deal. However, nothing on their official twitter or website-
Don't the Illini hate the Hoosiers? I mean, I would never want any part of an Il. State coach on BU or a Washington man in charge at EP, Or a Michigan or USC man at Notre Dame.....
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!
Butler coach Brad Stevens squashed any and all rumors that he has been contacted about the open Illinois job.
For the record...this might be true, yet he may still be working with the search firm and negotiating for the Illinois job. With search firms handling things, it is possible for a coach to claim he is not in contact with another school when he or his agent might still be.
I really don't know if Ill talked to Brad Stevens. But nothing he or Butler has said make it any less likely that they are negotiating through reps. It has always been unlikely he is coming. But everyone acts liked he denied interest. He really did not do that. He just said he has not talked to them.

I am guessing Canton BU fan figured "we" are Bradley fans... and so we all won't get our hearts broke again if Brad turns it down. He probably didn't know you were an Illini fan.

I meant like ALL Hoosiers, Butler, Purdue, Indiana, etc. (Except Notre Dame, they've got fans everywhere hahaha)

Oh boy. This is starting to sound familiar. First the football team, now this! Of course Brad maybe never intended on leaving Butler as he has shown he could make Butler a national power by staying in a conference that otherwise is average, similar to Shaka Smart. But Illinois still looks bad by announcing each candidate that they are going after. Not smart!
How about Scott Drew? He has stated that Illinois would be his "dream" job. And of course he would be much closer to his family. That would be the most sensible hire, but again, since Illinois dropped the ball by announcing Shaka Smart's salary package, they better have about 3 million dollars or more to shell out to Drew.

Within the last 10 years, Pittsburgh has made the NCAA tournament all 10 times, they have been a 1-seed twice (including last year), a 2-seed once, a 3-seed 4 times, and a 4th, 5th, and 9th seed. That sounds like a national power, and they're playing in the CBI.
After striking out with Shaka Smart, Anthony Grant, Leonard Hamilton, and Brad Stevens, it looks like Illinous will probably land (settle for) John Groce.
