  • Good read: How Coach Cal helpd Crean at IU

Friday's South Regional semifinal between Indiana and Kentucky isn't just about IU's return to prominence. It's also about the connection between coaches Tom Crean and John Calipari.

Pretty interesting. Indiana was beyond bad...only 2 kids at practice in the first year, WOW!
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

agree - good read - but I guess if you say it enough it become fact...

"Hoosiers basketball...was in a thousand pieces
thanks to the NCAA infractions committed by Kelvin Sampson,
the subsequent self-imposed IU penalties and, later, NCAA probation."

They fail to give any blame to the people who lusted for the power and wins in hiring, then supporting and backing Kelvin, plus the horrible quality of player they were willing to take just to get wins.
The "two guys" issues was purely a result of the MAJORITY of those players being BOOTED by Crean -so it was of his own choosing....not the NCAA.
The NCAA sanctions were virtually nothing....yet that's what they continue to blame...

That was a good article. I remembered them being bad but they had a history worst 6 wins that first season and only 1 conference win and a few short years later......hmmmmmm
