South Plains 73-60 over Monroe - Marshall Henderson had 15 but he was 0-7 on 3-pointers - bringing his tourney totals to 1-16 thus far from beyond the arc...Hmmm...let's see if he hits better in the SEC against defenders like Darius Miller, Marquis Teague, Brad Beal...

Eastern OK over Spartanburg 78-70

College of Southern Idaho stayed alive in the consolation bracket and eliminated Three Rivers 80-70 (OT) - Paul Bunch had 4 pts, Fabyon Harris was just 1-5 and had just 3 pts to go with 1 asst, 2 TO, and 5 fouls

Wallace State 67 - Gordon 65 - Gordon's Reigarvius Williams had 16 pts & 15 rebs!

Wabash beat Navarro 66-55, Wabash's Nick Wiggins (a BU recruit) had 24 pts, 12 rebs, 5 asst

NW Florida wins again and will play Seward in the Championship semi and a shot at the National Championship - they won 77-71 over Otero JC
Tennessee recruit, PG Chris Jones (the #1 ranked juco player) had 23 with 6 asst but 5 TO,
Trency Jackson had only 3 pts, was 0-4 from 3-pt range, and only 1 asst, 2 rebs in playing almost the entire game.
Some have touted Trency Jackson as a high major - he's averaging 10 ppg, 35% on 3's, 3 rebs, 1.5 asst

College of Southern Idaho getting hammered by Indian Hills - down 15 in 2nd half


The D-II juco Nationals are at Danville Area CC...
In Mott CC's first game - Chicagoan John Taylor had 26 as Mott beat Danville 76-59..then he followed that up with a monster game of 38 pts in beating Louisburg.
Mott is clearly the favorite as they are hammering everyone thus far...

other familiar names DeAndre McCamey (Demetri's little bro) plays for South Suburban CC but so far isn't scoring well.

Isiah Hale (Springfield) is also on SSCC

Marshall Henderson hit a lot of shot sin the semi's and South Plains beat Eastern OK 95-75

NW Florida won the other semi...

In the title game South Plains beats NW FLORIDA 81-68 - Henderson going for 32 - so he saved his best for last when it mattered...
but South Plains' Yanick Moreira won the MVP averaging 11 ppg & 12 rebs inthe four games, and he had 16 rebs in the Final

Moreira is a 6-10 center - unsigned who averaged 12 ppg, 8 rpg, 2 blks over the course of the season

..he was also the unanimous National Juco Player of the Year (DII)

but he is NOT going to a D-I four-year school - he is headed to Fresno Pacific (D-II transitioning) along with his high school buddy Malcolm Griffin - who was Toledo's best player and a very good scorer.

this guy Yanick Moreira is a ton -- he just verballed to SMU but last night in South Plains' first game he was 14-24, 32 pts, 11 rebs, 3 blocks

Fresno Pacific with their beefed up roster from a few D-I transfers - put a scare into D-I Fresno State...before losing a close one..

The two Chicagoans who are D-I transfers, John Taylor had 20 pts, Malcolm Griffin had 15 pts..
They will probably be pretty good in D-II..

F/U on an ex-BU recruiting target..
there were some when Trency Jackson was being recruited who said we needed to land him..IN FACT- SOME said he should be our #1 target..

Thankfully Geno passed on the kid - he ended up choosing Texas Tech - (Billy Gillispie)
as the story unfolds...the kid has had more drama in his college career than most people have in a lifetime.........
On top of that he spent a year at Southern Miss ineligible under Larry Eustachy & then goes to Texas Tech to play for Billy Gillispie - so he's had some interesting coaches as well.

-he was granted a special waiver because he really didn't have enough transferable juco credits but they (Texas Tech & NCAA) let him enroll & play anyway with the promise he'd catch up...
Does anyone think Bradley would have had a snowball's chance in heck of getting such a waiver??

well - after playing a few games (Texas Tech was bad and Trency got to start & play full time - averaging 6 ppg/2 rpg with a low 28% shooting & 58% on FT) - he had multiple suspensions for "violations of team rules" - then became academically ineligible...his transcript was reportedly erroneously qualified when it shouldn't have been - then the school became confused about Jackson' eligibility & told him he was eligible when he was not and played him into the 2nd semester - then when they found the error - the dropped him and kicked him off the team and out of school.
He has since transferred...
