Iowa State takes a hit

Fred Hoiberg did a good job at Iowa State this season and they were already set to take a little hit
with the loss of seniors Scott Christopherson and Chris Allen, two of their three top scorers...but....

This is going to be a huge hit -- their very best player and leader in several categories
Royce White is leaving for the NBA, and has already hired an agent ..
His game against Kentucky showed he can play head to head with the nation's best player...

Iowa State will miss White; no doubt about that. But, they'll be tough again next year. They have two transfers eligible next season; Kori Luscious (sp?), transfer from Michigan State will give them a true point guard, something this season's team didn't have. Also eligible next season is Will Clyburn, a transfer from Utah, who led Utah in both scoring (17ppg) and rebounding (8 rpg) as a sophomore. I've seen him play, and he can flat out score.

Clyburn scored 19 points and had 14 rebounds against Bradley last year when Utah beat Bradley.

another player is leaving Iowa State - backup point guard Tavon Sledge..
he hadn't played much but was ranked as high as #79 Nationally in 2011...
He came from New York - all the way to Iowa State hopeful of playing time and didn't get any - passing on offers from West Virginia, St. John's, Cincinnati, Seton Hall and Rutgers.
He is a high schoring PG - averaged 25 ppg and 5.2 apg in high school and his scoring ability was compared in many recruiting articles to OJ Mayo...
