Bradley has one of their recruits Larry Austin of Springfield Lanphier in the state tournament...contrary to reports Bradley is not recruiting Peoria Centrals Trey Kellum and there is zero chance of him being a brave next year.

I was at the 3-pt competition and a couple kids impressed...
Fred Van Vleet advanced - he's a strong 6-1 with a college-ready body who also can hit the three...
Washington's Alec Peters also swished 12 of 15 -- looked pretty good....
several D-II coaches watching the competition -- kids who can shoot can always find a place...

I saw some video of Van Vleet. He looks VERY impressive. I wonder if Marshall was to leave if there would be any chance to get in on him. Probably not because I bet we have our scholarships spoken for. But he had one of the best videos I have seen.

Kellum is a nice player. I think he'd be a better fit in the OVC.

Gerry I know your close to the BU staff but I talked to Trey this weekend and he told me BU offered.Not sure if he understood my queston. I ask if BU was talking to him and he said they offered this week. Talked to Austin also and it would be a major miracle for him to end up at BU. With the schools he told me he had offers from I'm not holding my breath. This week alone he got offers from Memphis and Missouri.

I would be shocked if we made an offer to him, we need guys that can contribute now and even though he has good potential I think it is a risk.
The only thing that would change on this is more then 3 players are leaving the program.

I am happy for Trey or any kid who is good enough to play D1 ball anywhere. With that said, I sure hope we are not competing with WIU, EIU for players...
