Savannah State lost to Tennessee in the NIT last night 65-51...
but one interesting story centers on Savannah State's head coach Horace Broadnax...
"...the team bus left accidentally without Broadnax. In fact around 6:55, the team bus had to go back to the hotel and get him."
Yet another snafu was that the Conference Commissioner for Savannah State's MEAC, was issued a Name Badge
and VIP Pass with the wrong name so he was unable to get in the arena!!!
"...it was a tough night for Dr. Dennis Smith, MEAC Commissioner.
I'm sorry; his name is Dr Dennis Thomas. Identity is very important here
as he could've guessed it was going to be a long night after being denied
admission to the game last due to a credential snafu. So, the Commissioner
of Savannah State's conference had to sit and wait several minutes at the
gates of the arena until somebody would come and identify him as the real deal."
