    Dispute at Ind. State- Carl Richard quits team just before their CIT game & Koang Doluony dismissed

    Apparently when Indiana State played Wichita State in St. Louis - there were some words between the head coach Greg Lansing and Carl Richard.
    Richard jacked up a 3- point attempt right off the tipoff that air-balled....
    and Lansing wasn't happy...
    Things deteriorated from there with the Sycamores getting pummelled by the Shockers 72-48.

    Head coach Greg Lansing said that the Sycamores had "team chemistry" issues...
    ..and he also booted reserve junior Koang Doluony - who is also said to be gone for good and will not return next season.

    After the dispute - Carl Richards reportedly cleaned out his locker, and quit the team - right before their post-season CIT game -
    his absence last night may have contributed to Indiana State losing at home to Robert Morris...
    where the Sycs lost a 10-pt lead late and was outscored 32-14 down the stretch.
    Richard is a senior - so he's done anyway -- but this is a very odd way to end your career....(1040 career points & 716 rebounds)
    Obviously there are more facts that will never be known....

    Justin Gant picked up quite a bit of Richards' playing time and scored 14 for one of InSU's only bright spots.


    BTW -- interesting 21 page thread on the Drake board calling for their head coach to be axed and go after Tulsa's Doug Wojcik

    Gant is a kid I really wish we would have landed. He is 6'8 and LONG. Primarily 5, but has the ability to shoot the 3 if left open, but doesn't look for it. He was a bit lost of defense this year, but when you playing time is haphazard as it was for him, this isn't uncommon. I bet he is on the all-improved team next year.

        t....that thread is 4 years old (was started after Phelps' first game as DU coach).....the thread gets bumped back to the top every time Drake has a really bad game. Nowhere in that thread does anybody suggest that Drake go after Wojcik. He's only mentioned in one post, and it was just a mention that he had been fired by Tulsa.

        Interesting to read about Carl Richard....funny how no ISU fans on the MVC board even mentioned it.

          so you finally discovered that the best news and info is always here first...
          but the media in Terre Haute only works part time...so you have to check here if you want the facts...hey if two key players at Bradley suddenly disappeared, were totally GONE fromt he team,
          ..and didn't show up for a POST-SEASON tournament game - it would have been a headline story for weeks with some sports editor claiming of Jim Les is running a renegade program!!
          ..anyway --
          ....... the Trib Star had a piece, several Sycamore fans tweeted about it, and one mocked Richard saying...
          "(ISU SYCAMORES) ..should be playing VCU right now. I BET CARL RICHARD WOULD WALK OUT ON HIS TEAM AND FANS AT HALF"
