I have received inside information that Western Illinois will travel to play Oregon State in the first round of the CBI. Congratulations Mo- the first postseason game for WIU.
The CBI brackets and teams have not been announced officially yet.
Butler may be one of the favorites to win this. Hard to believe last year's national runner up has dropped to this tournament this year, but it shows that the CBI is a quality tournament, and there were still some very good teams that missed out on the NIT.
Very surprised that three BCS teams accepted bids to the CBI (and one of them on the road as well). And two of them were not named Oregon State!
I know some have made fun of these tour. but not me, I always believe that you benefit more by playing at the end of the season rather then watching, Illinois is making a huge mistake by not playing as they have a very young team that only gets better by competing, I realize Leonard is going pro so they would have a chance to play some of their freshman more minutes in these games, no doubt that winning one of these tour.(CIT,CBI) is not considered a huge accomplishment but it is a great stepping stone for the future.
