SIU does struggle at times to score, but they do play good D

next game, Marist vs. Minnesota has Coach Jim Molinari easily spotted on the gophers' bench.
    Minnesota is also looking shaky.
Right now Marist up 8 midway through the 2nd half.

Minnesota has very little inside game, and almost nobody who can make a 3-pointer.
      They will lose this game.

They lost 63-56, and didn't look good at all. Marist was all but letting them back in the game and they couldn't take advantage. In the end they were just jacking shots from anywhere, no offensive flow.

it was definitely NOT the fault of Minnesota's defensive coach!

watched the siu-arkansas game. siu is not very good. i think we have good chance to finish higher than them in conference play.they have little offense and zero depth. they also foul too much.

Flipper - I don't like the way SIU plays either and they aren't very good on offense.... however, their defensive philosophy is to bang people and hold, and it is hard to call that every time. The fact that you say they foul too much is true when there are neutral refs. But MVC refs continually let them clutch and grab, and that is unlikely to change.... I hope BU can finish ahead of them as well, but it would be nice if the refs called the game like they did in today's contest.

good points. siu is not going to win too many games when the refs call the game tightly.

Patrick Beverly looked real good in this game. He not only shoots well, but he plays great defense and had a highlight reel breakaway slam. Stan Heath got a really good player when he signed Beverly. He'll just have to focus on the books and he'll be a star.

Beverly has always been recognized as a good defender, something that high school kids rarely work on. He has improved his offensive skills a lot. But he still looks like the weakest part of his game is his passing and floor game. He still looks to fire a shot first.
