Illinois State is a 7 seed
UNI is also a 7 seed
It looks like every game is on one of the ESPN networks
Just noticed- Jerrance Howard will not get a chance to coach a game. Illinois is not in the NIT!
Could this have been by Illinois' choice? I doubt it, since Mike Thomas (Illinois AD) said in his press conference that they would accept an invitation to the NIT.
Illinois State, UNI, and Iowa were the last teams selected for the NIT.
All 4 #8 seeds (Savannah St., Texas-Arlington, Stony Brook, Bucknell) were conference regular season winners, and thus received automatic bids into the NIT.
Illinois State, UNI, Iowa, and Valparaiso are the #7 seeds, and Valpo was an auto bid, too.

No this couldn't have been their choice. You are not allowed to decline an invitation.

It's hard to explain otherwise. Illinois had an RPI of 91, Iowa's was 130.
Illinois' SOS was 32, Iowa's was 72.
Illinois' non-conference SOS was 138, Iowa's was 306!
Illinois did not have any bad non-conference losses, Iowa lost to #206 Campbell!

Illinois lost 12 of their last 14. Thats a good enough reason for me.
