Can someone explain to me why Colorado State is a "lock" according to many people, while Middle Tennessee is not even mentioned as a bubble team? Colorado State has some nice wins, but every single one of them came in Fort Collins, and they have some really ugly losses outside their city limits. They went 1-6 in the MWC on the road, with the lone win coming at Air Force. Their best win away from home appears to be against mighty UTEP. What have they done to show that they can win a game in the NCAA tourney, which will not be held in Fort Collins?
Everyone seems to think Iona and Drexel are squarely on the bubble, but Middle Tennessee is not? Compare these three teams and explain why Middle Tennessee does not compare favorably to the others? The losses in their final 2 games are the only reason they must not be getting any respect at all, and do those two losses really offset the entire season prior to that time?
Lastly, compare the profiles of Northwestern and South Florida. How can one of them be safely in the field according to some, and the other be definitely out? How can either of them get in ahead of Miami? Neither of their profiles look as good as Miami's.
Is Washington going to get the UAB treatment this season? A conference champion that does not appear to have a good profile for getting in. One thing UAB had last season that Washington does not this season is a better RPI, despite it being inflated (see Colorado State and Southern Miss this season for the two most glaring examples of inflated RPI's currently).
