Also, I have figured out where the bad Free Throw shooting comes from. I think both teams combined missed about 10 free throws near end of regulation to the 4th overtime. I know Washington could of sealed it a couple times if they hadn't missed 4 straight free throws. These kids need to realize that Free Throws are just as important as the rest of the game when it comes down to crunch time.

For the record- the games in the sectional are IHSA State sponsored events, and not Bradley events, so they go by the official rules set by the IHSA. I don't know what the specific rule is about coaches attending, but I would guess that probably the IHSA does not have an exemption for them. They have to pay like everyone else. Even if the Bradley coach or for that matter the President went to the game, they would have to pay.
If it was up to Bradley, maybe they would have a different set of rules.
If $5 is tough for him, maybe Jank needs to ask ISU for a raise.

Yah I noticed the people selling the tickets were people from the individual schools, 1 had a Washington shirt and another a Manual shirt, not Bradley people. I'm sure they can throw it on an official recruiting trip fee or something lol.

On a side note, I really think High School ball needs a shot clock and end of game instant replay. Make the shot clock 1 minute. That gives the team plenty of time to work the ball around and not allow them to stall for 2 minutes or more. No point in stalling and it's kind of unsportsmanlike in my opinion. College ball has 35 seconds and NBA 24 seconds, 1 minute should be plenty.

I to was at the game. I have worked close to 2,000 games in my career and seen many more then that. The final call at the end of the 3rd OT was the closest I've ever seen. The official who made the initial call was the official responsible for the call. He was Center opposite the table and it was his call. Right or wrong thats what you live with.
I've heard from a good source that the video was reran in the Bradley video room frame by frame and it shows the ball still on his finger tips and the lights on the scoreboard were red. I have been asked several times today how that would have been handle in my day. That's pretty simple because in my day we only had two officials and the trail official would make the call and it would have been final. To bad someone had to lose but that's what this time of the year does. One team goes on and one is practicing baseball today. Good luck to both teams Fri. night can't wait to see it.

I could not agree more. I was thinking 45 seconds to a minute. When Manual had the ball with about 2 minutes remaining and just held it, I was incredibly annoyed. HS Basketball needs a shot clock.

It is clearly out of his hands, and there is still 0.1 sec on the clock, and neither the red lights on the backboard nor the horn had gone off yet (video a bit grainy, but blame the PJS for that).-

Again, here is the link to the video, and IMO, it is clear that the horn doesn't sound until after the shot is released.
The final shot occurs between the 10 sec and 12 sec mark-

What do you think? Was Manual robbed? I think so.
This pic doesn't show anything; just a dark-complected kid in front of a dark background.

Great post. I would agree that even though I wasn't there, this was one of the closest buzzer beater attempts I have ever seen.

I disagree - there is no possible way that the freeze frame in that video convinces me the ball is still in his hands - especially when Da Coach's freeze frame is CLEARER by far, from a better angle, shows an unquestioned gap between the ball and the player's hands, and also shows what was happening 0.1 seconds earlier - and it is undeniably OUT OF the shooter's hands

I was at the game and in real time of game action. I thought it was good, but it was such a quick play. One ref called it good right away, however both other refs rushed to him and they conversed right away. If they were all unclear about whether or not it was a good basket. I think they did the right thing by making the teams battle it out on the court.

Its easy to judge when you can have slow mo replays or screenshots of the play. They had to make judgement in real time with nothing but the play in there head. It was a great game, great atmosphere, great ending. Everything about team sports that make it great. Tough that one team had to lose.

Definition of March Madness at its finest!!!

                    EPIC GAME, EPIC ENDING!

I've watched it several times and different videos...and I could care less who won but it is not clear at all to me...granted I'm old and can't see but that's besides the point....I just don't see clear separation on the video....and there has been several posters see it both ways.....so it is really that close....nobody got screwed when it's that close

I didn't watch the youtube video past 1 minute until now, but how did that ref miss the clear travel and 5 second call at the 1:10 mark with the ref standing right behind the Washington #30 player? Could of been a crucial turnover with about 3 mins left and Manual down by 2 in 4th OT. Dude was hopping his pivot foot all over the place LOL. I clearly think these refs were influenced by the overwhelming Washington fans compared to Manual fans.

Please don't take this wrong Jason, but your last sentence is BS--t. All three of those officials have worked the state tournament and before much bigger crowds then Wed. night. You don't get to that level and the crowd bothers you. Plain and simple. People who hear and let the crowd bother don't last in this career very long let alone get to this level.
